I've had my Rivian since May and I have yet to set up my MP3 library I've been building for the last 15 years. I don't see a regular USB port anywhere. Can you get a USB-C to regular USB converter of some type and plug that into the console so I can listen to my music? I've been doing this for my last 5 vehicles and it was easy, but my Rivian is sooooooo high tech it makes this difficult. Any help would be much appreciated.

On a side note I really wish they would have included standard USB plugs and a 12V outlet somewhere on the the inside of the vehicle. Am I missing something?

Bluetooth is the only option for playing external audio, currently. I think a lot of folks want more power options in the cabin, especially if on/under the dash to avoid running cords forward from the console for the later builds without 12v under the dash.

edit: forgot to add that you aren’t missing something unless you have an older build with 12v under the central display on the underside of the dashboard.

The USB in the center console appears to be capable of doing it as that is what the drive cameras are writing to but it is not implemented. Currently only option is to put the music on your phone and stream from there.

There is a possibility to change in the future but I have not seen anything from Rivian to indicate that is on their roadmap.

It's a biased approach to integrating music. As mentioned above pretty much the only option is to put your mp3s on your phone and connect it to the car by bluetooth.

You have to memorize the lyrics and sing them all to yourself.

You are welcome to beat my dead horse. Might not do any good but I'm trying anything.

Signed!
Getting my R1T next week and the biggest hesitation I have with the truck is this. Been enjoying this capability in my 2016 "layman's" truck for some time now. The fact that this "luxury" truck doesn't have it is ridiculous. Adventure truck my ass. Adventures in my world involve music and no internet/ phone connection!

Feel free to play in my walled garden of integrated music streaming. You get three and a half choices. The half goes to Alexa.
