I live in Tampa, and I have my R1S delivery scheduled for next week, and trying to find insurance options in FL has been painful. Rivian insurance (Nationwide) said they wouldn't do it, and my current provider is quoting $1800/6 months for my existing Acura and the R1S. Anyone has any recommendations for reasonable insurance options in FL? Can't wait to get my R1S next week!

Thanks,
Sameer

Progressive was one of the few and the cheapest for me.

Have R1S and Mach E for $1250/6 with $500 deductibles.

Thanks! I was looking at Progressive also, but somehow ended up with $1800/6 with $500 deductibles also. I am mid 30's, 800+ credit score, no recent history of accidents or claims. What kind of BI/PD coverage did you have in yours?

I think I have the state minimums and nothing extra. Just hit 41 wife and I. Also 800+ credit. No claims either.
Hope that helps.

Thank you! I will try to shop around a bit more, but Progressive seems to be the most "reasonable" option so far.

Rivian insurance wasn't writing policies in Denver when I got my R1S insured as well.

You just need to quote lots of carriers, since what's cheapest for one person will not necessarily be cheaper for another. Decide your non-negotiables and go from there, making sure the options are consistent across your quotes (deductibles, riders - ie new car replacement, oem parts, etc.).

I quoted almost a dozen and there was a $7,500 difference in the cheapest and most expensive 6 month premium. I knew I wanted new car replacement - which knocked most insurers out of consideration. Ended up with AAA, which was cheapest and also offered an OEM parts rider.

Check Allstate. I’m getting roughly $800 per vehicle per 6 months. Cover is really rich because I don’t want to get screwed with all the low or no insured geniuses on the road.

250k/500k
$500 deductible
New car replacement
Etc

It’s rich and worth it in my opinion.

Try Auto Owners Insurance. We have a 12 mo for $2500. I do have an infraction listed. Only the r1t is insured. I don't see a deductible on my acct.

Quick update - ended up going with Progressive after they gave additional bundle discounts etc. Took delivery of our R1S last week, and loving it so far!

Progressive here. We already used Progressive for our Wrangler and our Model 3 and the difference between the Wrangler and R1S was only $100 more. We will be selling the Wrangler when the time comes for our Rivian delivery Jan 20.
