Didn't I see you hanging out in front of Safeway just the other day?
Four weeks ago, in Bend, no less. Golf safari with friends. Don't remember hitting Safeway, but we played Lost Tracks one day, Aspen Lakes the next. In between, lunch at 10 Barrel (West side) and dinner at Zydeco. My hair was shorter then, but the tell was that we were in the car with Oregon plates. Yeah, that one! You couldn't have missed that.

We will meet one day, and we will have fun. The R1's were made for Central Oregon.

I can't help but wonder if our community's energy would be more positive if Rivian had been a bit more forthcoming and responsive over the past few months. Just imagine an alternate reality where they have someone like Duck working the message board and answering our questions with something other than SOON.

Who am I kidding? If I'm really being honest we would probably have driven them to quit long ago with all our negativity...
Funny you mention that. I told them I would work for nothing more than a test drive every day. You're all in for a huge treat once you drive one. I recommend working your smile muscles. You'll need them in tip top shape.

Duck,

Thank you for all the info. What did you think of the seats? Any of the invitees on the taller side, if so, did you hear anyone suggesting changes?

Very happy you got to attend, as many said, they could not have chosen better.
I found them to be extremely comfortable, supportive, and with plenty of adjustability. I'm 6 ft tall. OK, OK! 5-11 & ½. RJ is taller than I am and he was right at home with plenty of head and leg room for him, as well as for the passengers in back. That, and they are beautiful.

@DuckTruck speaking of meeting people, did you get a guide while you were there?!

@DuckTruck,

Thanks for sharing all this information. It makes me wish I'd known about Rivian and pre-ordered sooner. Now I have to play the waiting game and it's that much more difficult. ?

On the other hand, much more time to hem and haw over paint choices.

So glad you got to experience this and I can't wait to see the vehicles get in customers' hands (both of the Safeway and non-Safeway going varieties.) It'll be time to go adventuring soon!
You're so welcome and, to your last comment, yes it is!

Yes, I did. Martin came by towards the end to say "hi" and to give me the great news that we're partnered up as Guide and Riviot. It brought a smile to my face to get that news. Well, actually, the smile was already there, but you get my point.

Great news indeed...

Dude that's awesome! No more answering those pesky car warrantee calls from Illinois! Great thinking on their part.

ANy word on Range/kwh per mile ?

If you noticed that is!
Yes, and I'll fill in what I learned over the weekend. I'm beat and have to drive home and get to bed. I'm really looking forward to sharing more by Sunday night. Two Goldens, four cats and a bunch of plants need some attention now.

As John Lennon once screamed, "I've got blisters on my fingers!"

Be well!

Kyle,

To answer your question, I'm the one on left. I think you know the other guy by now. And this, folks, is what Launch Green looks like. If you look carefully, you'll also see the Rivian Grin stuck on my face, just as it was on all of the small, but very fortunate group in attendance. My face is hurting now as that grin is still there.

To a person, we all felt extremely fortunate to have been selected. To say it was life-altering to be a part of it is not an exaggeration for me, and I'm not even talking yet about the R1Ts we were allowed to sprint, drift, climb, rock-crawl, and fly through fields of tall grass in.

I'll be adding more later today, as I'm still trying to get down from Cloud Nine after last week. I'll just let you know these vehicles are just as awesome as the team that is currently building them.

I think many of you know I'm pretty upbeat and optimistic. I went into this event with unrealistically high expectations, and somehow, RJ and the entire Rivian family managed to blow my expectations out of the water.

How's that for a teaser....Oh yeah, along with 130 MPH....

More to follow.....

Damn it! Duck, I want to hate you simply on jealousy alone!!!!! LOL, who am I kidding? It is awesome to hear that a forum member attended the event. I look forward towards hearing about your entire experience along with what expectations did you walk in with (and you said you had high ones too) in addition to how exactly this meet reached and surpassed those expectations. Major grats, man :)

Still jealous AF though. NO CHURROS FOR YOU! ?

E.S.,

Thanks for the great laughs as I'm calling it quits for the night. Now that darned smile is back! You made my day! ?

May we both dream of fully-charged R1Ts and an uncharted path ahead of us. ?

Any glimpses of Limestone?
John Rhodes: "From left to right: White, El Cap Granite, Limestone, Midnight Black, Compass Yellow, LA Silver, Launch Green, Forest Green, Canyon Red, Rivian Blue Lots of reflection on some of them, sorry and this is an iPhone photo under some industrial lights so the colors are not perfect."

Haha okay, this is pretty cool that we finally got to see Launch Green. And I'm super happy for Duck...

BUT...

I've been in contact with my Guide for over a month now and Launch Green has been on my shortlist of thing I've wanted to see as a preorder holder (since 2018). My Guide keeps telling me that she's trying to get a picture for me, but can't. Seeing this get shared here this way is not a great feeling to be very honest. It's also a really weird play to let the first photo of a preorder holder bonus be from... a random cell phone? This actually isn't great, even though I'm happy to see Launch Green.

In before "entitlement" critiques... Yes, I do feel like Rivian should have owned showing the color reserved for LE preorder holders rather than letting it be shared this way. It doesn't make me feel especially valued as a longterm preorder holder. While I'm hungry for information, I've also been clear to CS about what I'd want them to share. And seeing it here, this way, first is not a fantastic experience.

This is a very bizarre way of getting such a little amount of information out to the public. Week by week its a pic, or a short video clip. We have to wait for one of the few event goers to give us details like range?

I'm sure all this will be a distant memory in a few months when deliveries start, but lets be honest with ourselves, we're being strung along
