Porsche sandbagged the Taycan's range rating, so I wouldn't assume real-world range will be less than what's listed.
Yeah, I didn’t realize that. Porsche is known to sandbag performance metrics for their ICE vehicles too, so that wouldn’t be surprising now that I think about it.

I would expect the Turbo to push over 90k. That said, it will certainly have exceptional fit and finish, build quality, and service network. An interesting entry for sure.
Love how Porsche puts "turbo" on EVs! :CWL:

Yeah it is nice looking but the Porsche dealer markup Is likely going to cost almost as much as an entire R2.
And, Porsche will still be backlogged with these. They won’t be able to produce enough to meet the demand for at least a couple years initially.

This looks great, guessing the turbo will be at or near 100k..

Easily if a base Tacan is $90k and the battery and motors are the same as the base Macan - I would expect base Macan is $75-80 and turbo is six figures

They will launch the 4S, turbo, and turbo S models first. 4S will start at 80k for sure. I'll bet we won't see as many in the states as we will need due to the macan ev replacing the gas version in Europe at time of launch altogether due to a new cybersecurity law for Europe. Porsche is not redoing or updating the current gas macan platform, they are going to continue to sell it to other markets for 1-2 years then it's dead. The ev macan shares nothing with the gas version.

The range won't be sandbagged like the taycan, that was all the EPA test cycle that did that at the time of taycan launch. The macan ev will get 300 or better miles at 70mph but that's 100% to dead. Out of spec already did the highway range test on some test mules about a month ago.

Porsche is going to sell these like hotcakes, even at the higher priced trim levels and with whatever markups dealers will have.

And have one-pedal.
Yup, that's what takes it out of the running for me. I don't need a truck, so I could move to the Macan when I'm ready to trade this in. I crossed it off the list when I found out they took away one pedal. One pedal is a great feature and one of the things that differentiates EVs from ICE in a positive way. This is the equivalent of electronically putting in a turbo lag when you accelerate to keep the traditional feel.

The point of modernizing is to get the benefits of modern technology. Why make the move and then eliminate one of the best things about the new tech? Luddites.

Porsche applies regen via the brake pedal in the Macan EV.

While I also really like OPD for daily driving, there are two key areas where I was never able to get the same driveability out of it:

1) spirited driving in the twisties, and

2) snow driving, especially spirited driving in the twisties in snow

Rivian is just as bad, but in the opposite direction. Why force me to not be able to coast on the highway? Why is the lowest off-accelerator regen level still so high?

I agree with you that not giving a choice is no good. I don’t share your preference though.

When I’m towing, regen isn’t enough in the Rivian, so instead I’m forced to have a very un-smooth experience when I transition from regen only to blending. Porsche doesn’t have this problem for higher-than-regen-allows braking. Porsche also allows me to adjust my right foot without braking, or futzing with cruise control.
