Help! R1S Ski Rack is whistling

I am having same problem. Could you please share how you used this item. Like where do I stick this strip.

On top of the cargo crossbars you will see open gaps on both sides that are about 21" long. I bought this one that others posted at home depot but you can get them on Amazon like others suggested

I cut them into 4 strips (around 21" each but double check yours just in case) and pulled the tape off the glued side and inserted them into the open slots to fill them up. The side with the adhesive glue keeps them in place and this filling fit perfectly in the open slots.

I was able to test this out yesterday on a ski trip to Copper Mountain and worked perfectly. I used black duct tape prior to fill the vertical slots on the cargo crossbars to deal with the slight whistling noise I heard when it was just the cargo crossbars on (before I added this new filler on top and no ski rack on). But when I put my Kuat 6 ski rack on it made an even worse/louder whistling noise so I decided to try this additional filler for the top of the cargo bars and it worked perfectly! My guess is that when i put the Kuat ski rack on that the really loud whistling noise was caused by those long open slots on top.

But now problem solved and thank you to all those on the forum that shared their advice and recommendations!

Brilliant. Thanks folks. Ordered these to stop my Kuat Grip 6 from driving my family mad on the next trip up to the mountains.... wasn't pretty!

I used crossbars on my 24 R1T on there trunk no whistle. Just used them on my 26 R1S with Yakima Fatcat evo6 the noise irritating. Will hand to try these fixes or no R1S to the snow
