Lately I’m experiencing a single wiper swipe of the front window when switching to drive? Anyone else?

Yup. Courtesy wipe. Turn off auto wipers if you don’t want it.

For real? Or did you just make this up? :CWL:

I do get that "feature" in the summer. I just turn off the auto wipers

If this is true, it appears they took the auto wiper feature and split it in two. If the only way to opt out of the courtesy wipe is to disable auto wipers then this defeats the purpose of the feature which is to automatically switch on wipers when it detects water on the windshield. Maybe they should create a on/off toggle for courtesy wipe or remove it since this could cause damage to the wipers in the winter if the blade is frozen to the window.

Like every other car I’ve owned, the auto wipers are not for automatically coming on when water gets on the windshield. Although this is what happens if you leave them on auto mode all the time. The point of Auto is to automatically adjust the interval based on how much it is raining at a given time. My Audi and Lexus would move the wipers one time at random times in the dry summer. The T is a bit more suspect to thinking it rained. When putting in drive, the sensors start “looking” and glare dirt etc. can cause a phantom wipe. Put wipers in off. When it rains, put them to auto.

Normal when dust or glare tricks rain sensor into thinking there are droplets on the windshield, when you have wiper set to auto. Stay calm. Carry on.
