Overall I think the numbers are good, but Bloomberg went positive. Yahoo went negative on the headline saying RIVN missed production estimates. Gotta love it.Rivian Beats EV Production Estimates With Shipments Rebounding
Rivian Automotive Inc. built and delivered more electric vehicles last quarter than Wall Street expected, giving the automaker a needed boost as it grapples with production hurdles and heavy costs.

At some point, $rivn won’t live in the shadow of $tsla. Hard to say when though.I'm not sure what Rivian could have done to produce better results here. It is early in the day and clearly being a smaller fish than Tesla and being grouped with them is the primary driver for a 5% reduction in the stock price. It isn't the first time this has occurred and it won't be the last, Rivian stock has benefited at times due to the relationship, but not much recently.
Yahoo didn't provide us with any favors as their headline is simply uninformed.
I'm curious if the market gets smart at some point to the stark difference in results between these companies for Q1. Probably not, but in the end what matters is the Rivian results and not what the market decides the stock price is worth.
But Tesla announced working on a way cheaper car in their current factories, that’s what pushed the stock higher!TSLA massively missed most targets ... stock up 14% after hours.
Stock market doesn't follow the real world.
Can't wait for their "late 2025" car to release in 2029!!But Tesla announced working on a way cheaper car in their current factories, that’s what pushed the stock higher!
I agree Elon has a history of being too optimistic, but I am just saying the market had already priced in the bad quarter and was looking to the future. Can't wait for their "late 2025" car to release in 2029!!
Like I said.. Not the real world
It takes most automakers a couple of years to get a new model up and running. What makes a difference is when they decide to announce it to the public or something about a new model leaks.I wish they could get the R2's built faster than two years away. One year would be nice. There is a lot of buzz right now almost everywhere and it would be nice to be able to capitalize on it. Wishing is what you do when there is no chance of it happening. I'm very curious to see if reality matches all the hype. I don't want an R2 or R3 myself. I'm happy with my R1T.
You misspelled lying....I agree Elon has a history of being too optimistic, but I am just saying the market had already priced in the bad quarter and was looking to the future.
Good thing for RIVN is him saying investing in hybrid or halting production is not the right strategy!
