Hi all - any of you use Google Music via Bluetooth for music? Mine plays just fine, but I'm not seeing the actual playlist on the interface. Is that supposed to show up? Adding a pic of what I see, which is a playlist in Google Music.

Whenever I'm using my phone's bluetooth to play music I only ever see the current track that is playing. I don't think I ever see a playlist, regardless of what music app I'm using.

Aww...pour one out for Google Music!
I've never seen lists of songs in Bluetooth play. I also haven't tried in quite a while. I like Tidal well enough and it was easy to tx my playlists over. Roughly the same price I was paying for GM/YouTube Music ad-free.

Yeah, sometimes i'll actually get a playlist but it's all "unknown" and the playing song is the only one that shows up at the top.

I assume you mean YouTube music (or is there a Google music zombie app roaming around somewhere)?

I almost always have playlist, but YouTube music isn't capable of sending album art, last I checked and experienced

Sooooo there seems to be a huge disconnect somewhere. I miss the old Google music pretty hard, though.

But regardless, sometimes the playlist goes away and comes back for me using YouTube music. I blame Google.

My reply in this other thread may be useful for getting the Bluetooth interface to work better. When I wrote the reply, things still weren't perfect but then a couple of days later Rivian pushed an OTA update which when combined with my settings resulted in everything just working. It has remained 100% functional with artwork and proper queues for last 6 months.

As an aside, I did bail on Google when they shut down Play Music and replaced it with YouTube. YouTube music was awful when I last saw it 4 years ago or so. I recommend Musicolet which is the best android app for large local libraries, better than old Google app IMO.

How nice it would be to just play music from a USB drive. Rivian must be getting money from Tidal etc.

Mine *occassionally* doesn't send the tracks and info.

But with subsequent updates, I'd say probably 90% of the time I get next tracks and album art (and it even displays on the rear display to rear passengers--my 9 yo loves it!).

What phone are you using? I'm on Pixel 7. I have a suspicion your issues might be moreso related to your phone than your vehicle.

Yes, my *YouTube* music does send album art. It's just annoying that the playlist isn't sent to the Infotainment system.

Huh weird. I remember looking into it ages ago to learn that Google didn't send it. Now I can't find that and clearly there are examples here that show otherwise

I've never had album art over BT. Ever.

What a dumpster fire of an app

YOU alone have a bad experience and the app is a dumpster fire, huh?

There's a reason some of us use it and prefer it over other apps :) (I've not had any issues with it and prefer its algorithms over everything else I've tried, by a LONG shot).

Well to be clear I mean that slightly tongue-in-cheek. It's the only music service I use and I use it a lot. I just miss Google music and am tired of Google's management of their services.
