Front sensor error. Can’t use cruise control.

Hello. I just got my r1s and it has a front sensor error so I can’t use cruise control. Can’t get a service appointment for over a month. Imagine that. Cleaned sensors and done several reboots. Has anybody had this problem and was able to fix.

Did you get ppf installed on the bumper? I had to remove ppf from the two large round sensors on my bumper after ppf installer covered them. Post a pic of the error message you are getting.

No ppf. Will provide error next time I drive the car. Is there a place to see the error. Cause if you don’t catch it when it happens you just see icons.

I have this error. Service center told me that it is due to rock hit and I need to pay $400 for the repair. Currently still waiting for the appointment date to drop off the vehicle. Not very happy.

How is it a lie when it is an intermittent issue and they may not have seen it?

The second I left it had the error. If they would have test drove it or even turn it on for a minute then they would have seen it. Also there were three other issues. That we pointed out within seconds.

I would love very much for that. But I shouldn’t have to wait a month an half for it to get fixed. I just pick it up. Part of buying a new car is not worrying about things. If things happen they should get fixed in a timely manner. A month and a half is not that. I want Rivian to succeed.

I’ve had these errors since I pretty much bought my car back in September. It’s been in service for it once already, and I have another appointment to try and get it fixed again.

My advice is to tell them you feel this is a safety issue and call their service number to ask for a return call from the manager at the service center. Explain clearly these are safety issues and you want to drop the car off asap to have it addressed. They might get you in sooner. Now the car might sit for weeks before they look at it but at least you get “immediate” drop off.

Predelivery inspection appears really spotty for Rivian. I’ve purchased two Rivians and both had obvious issues on delivery day that they should have caught if someone spent 20-30 minutes with a checklist for the vehicle. I do not agree with some posters here that it is the owners responsibility to find these issues and report them and put up with long service delays. These shouldn’t even be there at all on delivery day if someone checked the vehicles over.
