Front Driver Side Fender Gap - buying used

Hey everyone.

I'm looking at a used R1S with this panel gap in the driver side front fender. It's flimsy to the touch and rattles around freely. It's not really discernible if you look at it from a distance.

To me it's pretty egregious, but is it something easily dealt with or would you walk away?

That's not something I could live with. Either the seller would have to fix that or allow me to send the vehicle to a body shop of my choosing for an estimate on the repair which would have to be factored into the purchase price.

Looks more like it has been apart
You need to run a car fax report on the vehicle

Not a panel gap, this is something broken. Someone hit something with this truck.

Dont even bother with carfax or an estimate for repair, avoid this vehicle like the plague.

Without touching it myself or seeing a video, it's hard to say. Yes it looks awful. But also yes, some Gen 1s were sent out that awful too.

I'd walk. Looks like a poorly refit replacement panel. Who knows what damage sits under the surface? Easy pass.

The more I look at this, the worse it gets... I don't know if its the angle, but it looks wrong altogether, not just at the gap... I tried to reproduce on mine, its just... wrong.

There is also rust forming on the bottom of the frunk panel in the picture - you can see it just to the left of the panel with the gap.

Oh come off it. The picture does not show a panel gap, it shows damage. No Gen 1s were shipped with obvious damage like that. And any Gen 1 with a "panel gap" was fixed under warranty, if it was even noticed and if the gap was big enough to be concerning to the owner.

Implying that this picture is representative of a Gen 1 build is just insulting. Do you even own a real Rivian, not just a "Matchbox" one like your profile says?
