Connecting to wifi definitely triggers it. I park in a garage for high-rise apartment building. No wifi at my space, but they have it at the chargers (for updates). Update came through within 15 minutes of connecting.

This is new for this update. Before it didn't matter but now they prioritize WiFi-connected vehicles.

This newer version is a hotfix to add the correct regen for dual/standard models and few early quads. All other models with large/max regardless of motor stays with 2024.19.04

I mean…you aren’t telling me anything I don’t already know but as a big update that both came later than the usual cadence AND the first update after all of the announced changes, it’s still a fairly limited update. There isn’t much here for me to get excited about.

Well it sounded like you expected more. Most people were happy with the changes with more to come in the next few weeks. No pleasing some people.

I thought everyone was overreacting when mentioning the change in the soft suspension setting, but it's amazing. Would definitely compare it to an X5'ish ride.

I'm leaning yes on the redesign - happy to see that Rivian is blazing its own path.

Lane change cameras are a nice to have and while I agree that the camera quality is fair at best, no complaints because it's better than what we had prior. I'll take something over nothing. My only complaint: I've had to uncomfortably adjust my steering/seat height to not have the steering wheel block the view. But this could be a personal issue with my height/leg/arm lengths.

Overall, big fan of this update. A little over a year of ownership and probably the most noticeable update so far; second being the last update that added the second row screen controls.

Keep pushing Rivian!

I park in a valet garage in a high-rise at home and in an underground garage at work. No WiFi options in either garage and terrible cellular connectivity (I may not have connectivity at all, depending on where they park the car in the valet garage). Was thinking I might use my phone as a hotspot tomorrow and see if that kicks off a download as I'm driving around. Big road trip next week and would really like to get the benefit of the suspension adjustments for the R1S.

I am not sure why people are complaining about the lane change cameras. They are just fine.

The same kind of people that are begging for Apple Carplay saying that there's no downside to having it because you can simply turn it off if you don't want to use it.

I do like that my Alexa Music streaming stays up on the main display showing what is playing….

This does not happen for me, ore is it only when playing Alexa (Amazon?) music?

After reading this thread I connected my R1S to the home wi-fi and within a few minutes I was downloading the update. Thanks everyone for the tip!

I wonder if there are any other positives (or negatives) to be connected to the home WiFi?

It is not the resolution that is the problem, it is the field of view.

I just did 1000 mile trip and found the field of view very adequate to see lanes next to me....enough to see if something else was in those lanes. But then I live in a part of country with 3 lanes at most typically....maybe if you need to sweep across 6 lanes in LA it would be too narrow?
