Bare metal is a server that is used by one tenant and I’m that tenant. I guess we can get into semantics then.
There are no semantics. Bare metal in CS parlance is a server without a host operating system.

The definition of running on bare metal....

The term bare metal refers to the fact that there is no operating system between the virtualization software and the hardware. The virtualization software resides on the “bare metal” or the hard disk of the hardware, where the operating system is usually installed.

I am concerned for whomever you do DevOps for.

A bare metal server is simply a dedicated server that gives the user full control over the server. Other than networking, power, hardware, and maintenance, all the other aspects can be controlled by the user.

Here’s some more info from IBM. https://www.ibm.com/topics/bare-metal-dedicated-servers

Don’t worry, I’m not.

Did you read the link you posted? It clearly states:
bare metal servers do not come with a hypervisor preinstalled and give the user complete control over their server infrastructure.

With a bare metal server, because users get complete control over the physical machine, they have the flexibility to choose their operating system
Bare metal means hardware only. You have to provide to software.

That’s literally what IBMs and others definition of “BaRe mEtAl” (how eloquent of you). I run RHEL9 on a DL380 with HA running via Docker so yes, that’s “BaRe mEtAl”.

No, the ProLiant DL380 was bare metal when you bought it without an OS.

Hey all. I have been having Bluetooth pairing issues and noticed via HA that each of my Bluetooth entities via the Rivian (Unofficial) integration say ‘Bluetooth Module Failure Status….’

Does this indicate a problem with my Bluetooth module? Can you check yours to see if it displays the same?

Thanks

Look at the actual value. It should say "dtc_not_set"
