Hi folks,

Can you please help with an updated list AND link to accessories that one should consider once the delivery of an R1S is imminent? This would include MUST HAVES and I WISH RIVIAN OFFERED THESE. Some of the discussions around this were from early 2023.
Thanks!

I have a great list of accessories on my site. Most are compatible with 2025. The only thing I can think of that isn't are the all weather mats. The driver mat is different on 2025 but all the others are the same. I am also not sure about runners/sliders for 2025.

Screen protectors are a must

If you are shorter, running boards or sliders. The kneel mode is not enough for kids and older adults. I put on Real wheels EV’s all steel boards in black which made everyone happy.

Jack pucks. Why doesn’t Rivian include these?

Taking delivery next weekend, any advice?

Couple links with few brand suggestions. Enjoy and feel free to ask questions.

Genuine OEM:
Cargo cover for the rear
Floor mats

Aftermarket:
BestEVmod center console and armrest storage
TWRAPS 3 piece screen protector
Any smoke covered license cover

On the fence:
I'm testing the generic crossbars from Amazon this week. They attach with ubolts instead of snapping in. But they also cost 1/4 the price.

Don't think the scene has changed that much from '23.

Must have:
- all-weather floormats and cargo mat
- screen protectors (at least for the second row which is in a very scratchable location)
- window tint in hot sunny climates. I used Lumar Air 80 on all windows and windshields (not the roof though). You can't even see it but it cuts the heat.

Should consider:
- rock sliders or running boards
- door sill protectors (I put some non-slip rubber on mine)
- If you might drive in snow storms, aftermarket fog lights, see https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...-to-led-headlights-not-melting-snow-ice.9956/
- Charger adapter(s). A2Z for Tesla superchargers

Very optional:
- seat covers such as by Canvasback
- center console divider/drop-in
- aftermarket horn
- I got some little USB-c plugs to try to keep dirt out of the ports in the 2nd and 3rd rows

Gear to consider keeping in the car:
- snow scraper + brush
- gloves
- squeegee
- shovel
- flat tire solution (e.g. air compressor kit and slime)
- umbrella
- first aid kit
- tarp (for hauling dirty stuff in the back)
- portable charger

Off-roading:
- air compressor kit if not already bringing (gauge, hose and attachments, air down solution)
- full-size spare and plan for how to bring it
- jack and accessories (pucks, chocks, some extra wood, whatever)
- breaker bar, 22mm socket that fits your wheels
- recovery gear: kinetic rope, hitch link, soft shackles, hitch pins, etc (Rivian sells an expensive kit)
- any tools you might use, like to pop off the hitch cover or plastic covers under the side rails
- extra water, warm clothes/blankets, snacks (don't store snacks in the unattended car in bear country)

Agree with a lot of what’s been posted. Some additional thoughts/ramblings:

ā€œNeedā€
All-weather mats: IMO, Tuxmat > LinerX = OEM. Personal preference will come into play. Tuxmat not officially available for 2025 yet due to driver’s floor changes but the mat does fit and isn’t a safety issue in my 2025. They double as door sill protectors due to the massive coverage which is nice. Frunk mat not really needed with the new gen 2 rubberized divider.

Cargo: Canvasback is amazing. I got the one piece cargo cover (which is cheaper and prevents debris from getting down in all the crevices), side covers, and the tailgate pieces. They even made me a custom side cover without the cutout for the air compressor since I don’t have one in my gen 2 (it’s now a selectable option on the canvasback site). The rear door covers are great for messy kids or jumpy dogs (protects the sills). I’m obsessed with the black plaid…I think it looks great with the OC interior.

Get something to repair a tire puncture. The measly pump and goo the car comes if you don’t option the built-in compressor I don’t trust at all. I have something like this from Amazon and it’s worked superbly for my Land Cruiser during some real wheeling in the KY woods. Even repaired a sidewall with a plug and got all the way back to Cincinnati (slowly) with it. A sidewall repair kit would likely be more prudent. Anyway, a kit lives in my rivian now along with an upgraded 12v air compressor (again, no built-in compressor on my spec).

ā€œDefinitely wantā€
Screen protectors: @twraps are a great fit and quality. Got them mostly to protect the rear screen from kiddo feet (and jumpy dogs again). Matte is nice if you’re sensitive to glare (all that screen real estate up front sometimes triggers a migraine for my wife on sunny days).

NACS adapters. @A2ZEV typhoon pro combo kit (AC and DC chargers) is the best bet right now for sure. A little backlogged (took a month to get mine) but better than holding your breath for an OEM DC one right now and you’ll want an AC one regardless. New update pro version seems super well built (I think the original was too but have no comparison).

@BestEvMod(AOSK) floor and center console organizers. I like the one with the cup holders for large water bottles (think yeti or hydroflask). Unfortunately it doesn’t work great with the drawer that now replaced the camp speaker in most gen 2s. My dremel worked well enough to cut it down more to allow the drawer to slide out most of the way, even with the cup holders.

ā€œProbably Wantā€
@RWerksman has lots of cool stuff at opensourceev.com. Sunglasses holder for me so far, but

My S00nish (@Sojhinn) gen 2 wireless charge pad will hopefully be on its way soon. The gen 2 oem chargers still suck. Shame to have to upgrade an ā€œupgradeā€ but I anticipate it will be worth it. Will report back. TWraps and Opensourceev also make versions that I think look nice depending on what exactly you’re looking for.

Silicone tow hook covers. A nice touch in yellow or black. Same goes for wheel, light, and trim blackout wraps. Twraps and Abstract Ocean have lots of options. I’ve only gone for the tow hook covers so far.

ā€œNot for meā€
Tints or a sunshade. It’s hot around SW Ohio but not crazy hot. I have the dynamic roof which does a decent job shading and an okay job reducing heat. Your mileage/wants may vary.

Other off-road recovery stuff. I have all of it for our Land Cruiser, which is the exploration machine. This is our family highway cruiser, so I don’t feel the need to load up on all that heavy stuff. Again, depends on what you’re using your new tank for.
