Resetting Home Location

We recently moved from California to Washington and I’m trying to figure out how to reset our home address for things like proximity locking, garage door pairing, navigation, etc. Looked everywhere and don’t see where I can reset that? I did update my information in the App, but that does not seem to sync with the truck. All suggestions welcome!

So I’m sure this is user error on my part, but I have tried setting my new home address in the Nav system as suggested. I can obviously set the new location, but once I do that I can’t find the option on any screen to actually save it as my new home address. Pics attached… clearly I’m missing something! ?

What happens when you ask alexa to navigate home? I also moved CA to WA and was able to set the home favorite but asking alexa to navigate home routes me to my old address. I haven't been able to figure it out.

Did you sync contacts with Alex? Do you still have old address in your contacts? Just spitballing. I don’t use Alexa. Not good enough or useful enough to me.

I never had my address in my contacts. I wonder how it's interpreting "home".

I had experience with this when I moved from Nevada to Virginia. It took about a week but the truck finally reset. I tried soft resets and a full vehicle reset with no luck. It just seemed to need a few days to figure out it had moved.

I just got my car delivered, set up Alexa, asked to navigate home, and it navigated me to the address where I moved from like 6 years ago. I suspect that it's Rivian problem - they use an API from Amazon, pull all of the addresses on the backend (even if you can't see them on Amazon website) and choose the one that matches certain criteria, but forget to check the indicator that the address is not active anymore.

No, that's not it. It's far simpler.

If you want Alexa to know your home address, you have to set that up in the Alexa app on your phone. I don't think there's any way to do this on the Amazon web site - this address does NOT come from your default Amazon shipping address or anything like that, it is an Alexa-specific setting that you have to set up in the Alexa app.

Likewise, Alexa does NOT use the "Home" location you set up in your Rivian navigation. Again, the home location that Alexa uses is configured in the Alexa app.

I've never had our used alexa before, so how did it navigate to a location that I never set in alexa app?
after, I installed the Alexa app and don't see the address it tried to navigate me to, in fact, all addresses were empty.

There have been so many changes over the years on the Amazon side, so there used to be different ways to set preferences. You said your previous address was from 6 years ago. I imagine that perhaps if you set up an Echo device back then maybe it asked you to enter your home address at some point. Old settings like that don't always get migrated to the proper new settings - you might have to explicitly set a new home address (even though it shows you don't have a home address) just to clear out the old settings data.

Regardless, there are all sorts of locations that can be set separately in Alexa - make sure you look at the correct one for your home address. Each device has a location that can be set for weather info etc. and you also have other things like the home address that is specifically for navigation (you can have Alexa app navigate you home on your phone - you don't have to be in your Rivian).

On my Alexa app, the home location can be found under More ... Settings ... Your locations
