Wtfo Rivian!? Uber credits don't cover tip?!

Is this common knowledge/old/new? Anyone else also experience this?

LE R1T in service, before the company folds, and instead of a loaner/rental they gave me Uber credits. This would have been swell had the service guy informed me beforehand that I would have to eat any tip amount OR if Rivian's Uber credits covered the tip amount.

I've never got Uber Credits but every time Rivian ordered a Uber for me I was specifically told no tip was needed.

I am sure this won't cause the company to 'fold' but who knows ?‍

I just had service done on Wednesday and they gave me $150 in uber credits (I used to get to work and back). Sure I had to pay tips (about $10) but had $110 left over to go get a nice dinner with my wife without driving myself.

With a corporate deal like this I assume there is some sort of gratuity built in that we don't see. Or at least Rivian requested that and Uber decided they would "forget" to mention it to the drivers...

Luckily I have not needed to use the Uber credits yet?

I suspect you'd like to be refunded the "fuel" you put in the free rental they might give you.

Not sure how accurate it is, but I spoke with an Uber driver about this on a recent Uber ride during a service interval a few months back. He said it's a flat fee, usually below what people tip, and doesn't account for distance of the trip.

So it's in there already, and if you wanna tip more, tip more. And if you don't, then don't.

Pretty sure anything leftover after your service is complete goes poof. Use em or loose em.
