  1. CCS appears to be better than NACS..should r2 stay CCS?

Yes, I've been saying this for years. NACS owners will carry CCS adapters (they already do) and vice versa (Now that tesla allows). Yes, it's a simpler one part plug that does both AC/DC charging, not the 2 part CCS (J1772 and Double Pin setup below). It's also a standard now with...
  2. Amazon considering monthly charge for Alexa

They should pay me to use Alexa. It pretty much sucks, just like the rest of them.
  3. Switching from 275/65/20 to 275/60/20

This is my plan for 21" (OEM 275/55-21) to replace with Michelin Defender LTX in 275/50-21. I'll adjust pressure to handle the load and wait out the proper 21 that are supposed to be coming. Except Rivian just dropped 21 wheels, so not thinking 21 OEM size is going to stay forever.
  4. Rivian ring key by CNICK

Agreed, sorry I meant can I send them my wristband to turn the guts into a ring.....
  5. Black fluid (oil?) coming from Rear Driver side

Waiting on that will cause more issues, escalate through app and they'll fit you in. It looks like boot tore or came loose and grease is being flung out.
  6. My Gen 2 R1S delivered review & recommendation! - for those on fence about Gen 1 vs Gen 2

Thanks for the initial review. I'm curious about what's the cost and upside of Gen1->Gen2 upgrade from a current Gen 1 owner. While I get most next gen are improved, are they worth the downstroke to upgrade from Gen1. In my eyes, it's be worth maybe $5-$10K total and that's essentially the...
  7. Rivian ring key by CNICK

Can they make a ring from the wristband key? Tell them they should join here so we can get this rolling....Group Buy?
  8. Having Someone Lease "For You"

Leasing is a little different from buying with more verification than a simple sale. Based on the description of what you want to do, you'll likely not get through the verification from Chase. But try it and let us know how it goes.
  9. Offering Friends and Family Discount to September!

If I didn't already have a T, I'd be in, good luck on the wait. I'm sort of waiting for October to find out what all the changes mean to $/vehicle gain/loss. It would be fantastic if initial production showed less loss or some gain especially to get that battery plant going again sometime next...
  10. Reuters: US as many as 15 years behind China on nuclear power [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Not an apples to apples compare. Yep, downside to everyone having a say is it's hard to get everyone moving in the same direction on anything. Not so in countries run by other systems of government. In some systems they say jump and either you jump or no-one ever sees you again.
  11. Charging Slowed to heat. this is a defect

OMG can we close this thread. No question or answer will suffice, Rivian L2 charging sucks.
  12. Charging Slowed to heat. this is a defect

Have you tried on a more universal 50amp L2 charger not pushing 80 amps to eliminate the charger from the equation?
  13. Test drove gen 2 R1S today (PDM, Max) -- Initial Pros & Cons Review

The more and more I hear about the Gen2, the less I'm concerned I'm missing out driving a Gen1 R1T. With all the software I'll get that's similar to Gen2, the additional Gen2 efficiency/functionality (HP, Automation+?, Suspension, cameras, etc) at the expense of Frunk Space, Base Audio...
  14. Electrify America Challenges

Used EA, EVGO, CHARGEPOINT, TESLA with no issues, but I do a bit of research before I go and avoid problem stations identified by reviews.
  15. Tesla Supercharger Rates -OUCH!!

CA is a tough place to buy gas or electricity. I always charge at home, except road trips and my local Tesla SC is 36-58c/KW, while my EA down the street is 36c/minute not KW. Time based charging is the way to go if fast charging, walmarts, and other retailer fast chargers are where to look.
  16. Wassym Confirms new features & upgrades for Gen 1 R1T / R1S -- Driver+, Ambient Lighting Themes

Great summary thanks. Goes with regular complain, complain, complain. Why won't it fly, CarPlay, swim, etc.....
  17. Abandoned Lectron Adapter

Agreed, I sprayed it on a microfiber and wiped everything down. It removed any extra molding bits and made the entire plug smoother/slipperier if that makes sense. I've used pledge to wax motorcycles and other smaller surfaces and it removes grime and adds some slip.
  18. Abandoned Lectron Adapter

I think it was teflon lock or some type of lucas gun oil. Mineral would have been fine as well, just don't want to make a mess.
  19. Abandoned Lectron Adapter

when I got mine, I wiped the inside down with pledge and put a drop of oil on the moving parts....after hearing the stories.
  20. First 10k Miles, Exact EPA Efficiency Match

I'm over 2.5 in my T now that spring/summer are here, so in the ballpark of 352 stated. In the winter it's lower as it's cold, but preconditioning plugged in changes that dynamic impressively well.
