Here’s a brief video of the R1T getting assembled. Lots of video cuts but you can get a general sense of the build process. Ends at 9 minutes followed by the Ford Lightning and the Hummer EV at 14 minutes.

Thanks for sharing and cool to see the process, since I don’t believe I’ll ever have the opportunity to see it in person.

Here’s something interesting I spotted in the video. The windshield is supposedly electrically heated. Didn’t know that and am curious how that’s activated? Maybe under the windshield icon in the “HI” mode.

Very cool video! Is this the Gen 2 or is it older footage from Gen 1? I wonder what they’ve done in assembly to try to reduce costs that might be visible in a video like this. They’re clearly using a lot of robotics, which is good

The Rivian segment appears to be old Gen1 video that has been around for quite a while. Still fun to watch it all again.

I read that caption as "during the manufacturing process, the windshield is electrically heated and then the various coatings can be applied to the windshield". I don't think it is implying that you can heat the windshield on the road using an electric current, only old-fashioned hot air through the defrost vents.

My guess is these are older videos. They looks like the lines I saw in January 2023 on a factory tour and several shots are of yellow vehicles which were discontinued around September of 2023.

Oh ok. Although, it would be awesome to have that feature. My opinion anyway

The EDV does that feature. I'd love for it to be an option on the R1 (you can sometimes see the lines, so a lot of people don't want it)

Good point about the yellow vehicles! Yeah, that does kinda date it. I wonder how much has changed since then. Surely somethings have changed, but maybe not the bigger aspects for how the body comes together, etc.

Wow!! Who cares about the lines. LOL
It’s about functionality. What do I know. I’d rather have that ability so my wipers don’t freeze up for example. But, whatever. To each their own I guess.
