The other one is $250 or $275 + cost of tire rotation. What you paid is the same as what I paid for regular inspection + tire rotation.
Who cares. I didn't want a walk around inspection for $200. I would not have consented if they would have told me that. That is like walking into McDonalds and saying "I will take the #2 meal" and you pay for the #2 meal and then they give you a Happy Meal.

160 for multipoint inspection and routine maintenance is not bad, but common. You folks must not have owned anything other than a Toyota. Quite strange some insist Rivian has no chance of being profitable, yet complain when they are billed for services rendered. Profitable/sustainable business or charity? Pick one. Hint: charity is wrong answer.
Again, this is doesn't apply. See the McDonalds analogy above. I asked for and paid for one product and they substituted another product.

You clearly don't understand my point. I have tried explaining using an analogy. I will try once again.

You go to a steakhouse and see the A5 Wagyu on the menu for $200 and say you want it. Your waiter (Rivian) says, "we changed the menu, and this is not the A5 anymore, it is just a basic steak, but it is still $200". I then say I don't want the basic steak for $200 and I leave.

Rivan didn't give me that option. I told Rivian I wanted the A5 (The comprehensive), they said it was $200. I paid the $200 and then I got the basic steak (Multi point) for $200. At no point did the waiter (Rivian) say "The $200 charge is for the basic inspection; do you still want it? They just went ahead and did it even though I have proof that I asked for the comprehensive and I was expecting to get the comprehensive. I never wanted the basic inspection or $200, that is highway robbery.

If you still don't understand then just move on, there is nothing I can do to try and explain it to you
Surely you were handed a menu that you ordered from in your analogy right? The equivalent to a menu here would be a service work order with prices listed. What did your work order say? You said you never received one, whose fault is that? Every time I’ve gotten service Rivian has sent a work order for me to sign before the work started. If you can show us this WO where they have comprehensive listed on it you might have a point.

Regardless of that this issue is NOT a bait and switch because the most important part of a scam is INTENT TO DEFRAUD. From reading other replies it seems like Rivian at one point offered the service you requested but no longer does. So the most likely explanation is a miscommunication.

In order for it to be a bait and switch Rivian would need to have engineered this situation by taking out a service nationwide just to trick you out of 200 bucks. If you believe that happened you might want to reevaluate your sense of self importance and take a look at Rivian’s balance sheet. Your 200 bucks is a drop in the bucket in Rivian’s grand scheme and they aren’t out to steal 200 bucks from someone buying a 100k dollar or more car.

The insinuation of malice is what I take issue with, and what you’re asserting doesn’t fit the situation, isn’t fair to Rivian or any other poster here. If you cannot discuss a situation without ascribing malevolent intent when none exists perhaps it is YOU who should stop posting.

I don’t understnad why you didn’t address it when you picked up your vehicle. Maybe i missed that part of the thread.
The wife picked it up, it was at closing. They said "everything will be in the app and emailed"
This concurs with my recent experiences.

OP, if you didn't sign before, you should have. Then they should've reviewed it with you before departure. Does your work order under your Requests list it specifically?
What we signed showed $0.00 because it initially went in for warranty issues. As it got closer to the date, I looked on their website and saw that the maintenance schedule had a 22,500 comprehensive inspection. We then called in and they added the comprehensive inspection (or so we thought), they did not send anything else. I even asked like I mentioned above "can I get a conformation or something?" and she said no and that she would call the service center and add it. Wife picked up the car at closing on Saturday, they were in a hurry and said everything will be emailed to us.

You're right. It's a travesty. You should sell and move on. Godforbid they charge you $200 to service a vehicle costing how much?

Sounds like you are fine getting jerked around and having your time wasted. I am not. In the end, they have $200 of my money, and I don't have the service that I thought I paid for. Which means one of two things when I call Monday. Both scenarios, was due to poor Rivian communication/execution that deserve to be called out on a public forum that talks about Rivian execution and performance.

1. The refund me - I still don't have the service I requested, and they held my car for extra days, wasting my time
2. They don't refund me and tell me that they will do the rest of the service - I need to drive 4 hours round trip for them to fix their mistake.

If you want to pay $200 for a guy to walk around the car and visually inspect your car, then that is great, I don't.

All I am saying is, you didn't pay for comprehensive inspection. If you feel like Rivian is ripping us off with service costs, I am with you. It's also not new. 4k rear door window replacement comes to my mind.

LOL. Now you want to split hairs on the legal definition of bait and switch. You sound like a Rivian mole. All your posts now make perfect sense. Have a great day

I don't think the car needs any of the 7500 mile "inspections" and now that I see what is included in these inspections, I can do it myself for free. I will never own an electric vehicle outside of its warranty. Funny part of all this is that the "Rivian chat" last night 1st told me that the "multi point inspection" is free with a tire rotation. Then he admitted that the comprehensive is $200. I am not sure who to believe now or if there is even a set price for these inspections. I also don't know how to get the chat log because it wouldn't let me scroll up while in the chat to see what wasp previously said.

You're such a victim, aren't you? Instead of you not understanding how words work and having someone point it out, I'm a Rivian plant, an employee paid by Rivian to argue with people on the internet. Do you realize how stupid that assertion sounds?

Feel free to skip it next time. You decided to pay for it.

You clearly also don't understand hyperbole. I have been on car forums for a long time, I know your kind. You are a Rivian cheerleader, and they can do no wrong. You don't like it when someone talks bad about Rivian. Listen, I ordered my car in 2018. I got it in 2022. I own the stock, I want Rivian to succeed, but this is the type of shit that will drive me to another brand. Customer service is how Rivian will keep it edge over the rivals, and they have failed on this occasion, and it is not the first time for me. Maybe you are fine with Rivian wasting your time and doing work that wasn't authorized, Rivian loves guys like you, you are brand loyal. They need to earn and keep earning my love.

Feel free to read my posts. I asked for and paid for the comprehensive inspection, I was given the lesser multi point. I had no idea that they switched the product until I got my paperwork after the fact. If I were given a choice, I would have skipped it. That is the whole point of this thread.

LOL. Except for all the threads where I'm critical of Rivian. I don't like it when someone accuses people of criminal actions because they are upset about their poor communication skills. I don't think that's fair or right. That dislike transcends Rivian. I must be in the minority because I understand what I'm paying for and get it in writing before performing any service.

I also don't like when people don't do their due diligence and then expect everyone else to wipe their asses for them. You'd have a much easier time in life if you stopped blaming others and started holding yourself accountable for your fault in this situation and do better next time.

Rivian doesn't need to earn anything from you, and it would be a waste of their time to try. Everyone else is always at fault in your life. There's no point in trying to please someone like that.
