20" AS Spare Option?

Hi Folks,

Have we heard anything about a spare wheel/tire for the Gen2 20" AS tires? I would love to have one - not too stressed about it with the repair kit, etc, but for peace of mind, I like having a spare.

Isn’t gen2 non-all-terrain-package shipping with a mild-ish AT? Goodyear Territory AT to be pedantic. Gen1 spare kits took a long time to be offered in Gear Shop due to prioritization of vehicle deliveries; something like 6-8 months after vehicle deliveries started. Likely the same for Gen2. Until then you can try the same things Gen1 owners undertook, including buying a single wheel/tire from your Service Center and piecing the rest together on your own. Search will show you examples.

I was looking at purchasing a aftermarket spare as well. I see tire rack has an inexpensive wheel for gen1, msw type 52. Would this work with the Goodyear AS 20” Tire? That’s what I’m leaving towards. Haven’t been able to find any on marketplace etc.

Yes, you can. Exact spec as the OEM 20" wheels

Doesn't matter. Same bolt pattern and offset. However, some have run into problems with hub bore diameter on the MSW (too tight). Search past threads. IIRC, Tire Rack exchanged them.

I called Rivian about purchasing the exact same wheel and tire that comes with the 20” AS. They said they don’t sell the full size as a spare because it does not fit in the spare compartment space. I have never measured it. I’m tempted to just get the small spare option to get me to a shop if needed.

Well that good to know....I'd assume it would fit in the R1T, I have a mobile appt set up next month. I'll make sure to inquire about it

Same, I will ask as well. As I put more mileage and go off-roading this coming summer, want to have one.

I asked my guide this question when picking up in December. He said they will be offering it but could not give me a timeline. I would hope by late Q2 early Q3. I do see the tires via the Rivian X Tire Rack link in the gear shop if you want to try and piece something together.
