So the increase from 135 million shares to 153 million shares means that they are offering a larger percentage of the business or they are diluting the 15% and further raising our price. I am scaling back how much I buy because they are passing my risk tolerance.

That is my understanding as well. Emails always stated "after 5pm" and you have "until 11:59pm" to accept. So they could email us at 11:58pm and we'd have 1 minute to smash that button.

Okay... you got me on technicalities! ; ) My initial take was, oh sh!t, I have to run three kids around to various practices in the evening and I have just 6 hours to respond to this confirmation?! Now, it's down to 3+ hours if the original confirmation deadline holds. Still an optimist, it'll all work out...

I hear you - certainly not ideal - especially if you are on the East coast (I'm in Seattle area).

Given all the angst / gnashing of teeth on this board about Rivian's commitments and missed commitments - I just felt compelled to point out, they (MS) haven't missed (yet). Maybe soon?

When they first filed back near the first of October they were looking for an $80 billion IPO. Down, then up and up. Right to what they were originally looking for.

If the Stock closes tomorrow at $85 a share they will have the same Market Cap as Lucid. RIVIAN has 4 times the number of Reservations as Lucid. So a closing price of over $90 tomorrow is not unreasonable.

This is past my comfort level. Not just because of the price but it's really feeling like Rivian is going "all out" just for the IPO and I'm nervous about a pretty steep downside. FWIW, Jim Cramer said he sees it as overvalued but he is a bit of a TSLA fanboy from an investing standpoint.

and as a Tesla S/y/3 owner, Lucid doesn't offer anything other than another lux sedan. With the truck and the SUV that's more Jeep/Land Rover style than crossover (Mach e/Tesla Y) Rivian seems to have a niche market. I hate Bezos with a passion, but it pays to follow the money

Given that the price is going high, I am planning to stick to a budget and buy only that many # of shares. That way, I don't go all-in on the IPO and if the stock dips later, will buy more. If it goes high, I'll just be happy with the ones I got .

My investment knowledge is so nascent ......as you can tell. If anyone convinces me otherwise, would love to hear your line of thought while we wait for Morgan Stanley to send the emails !
