Frunk Continuesly opening

24 R1S on 2025.06.01 keeps opening and closing the frunk, vehicle is 9 mos old.
Battery removed from fob, app closed proximity disabled and account password reset. My opinion hood is misaligned I have seen a few posts on this for delivery has anyone else had this issue? Yes did a vehicle and Infotainment reset and disabled power frunk in vehicle access and it still happened....

Service appointment is Weds this week...as I mentioned I think hood is out of alignment is the root cause

Silly question, but did you make sure there is no debris or anything around the frunk opening, hinges that could confuse it?

Yep and removed battery from fob closed the app on mine and wife's phone....4 ways turn on when it opens and closes...I run my finger across the lights to measures gaps and it is noticeable.

Is it not fully closing and then opening at the last second? This happened to me after a service visit due to techs not putting panels back correctly. Mobile service fixed it 30 seconds. They just pressed down on one of the panels. Wish I would’ve taken a video or pic.

Definitely sounds like the hood is not aligned right. Our R1S had this issue from delivery but a mobile service appointment got it resolved in about 20 minutes.

It sounds like you think it catches on something then bounces back up. That is different than the app causing it open accidentally.

Also try pressing the frunk button a few times, maybe it is sticking.

Sharp blow/bump, software adjustment to tolerance that causes it to bounce back up, bolt working loose. From watch the mobile tech adjust my hinges, it doesn’t take much movement for the alignment to be off enough to cause it to bounce open when trying to close it.

I have an appointment Weds this week any ways to check the torque on something on the front end...they are fitting this on...it's popped and rattles the safety catch is keeping it from opening...

I'm not talking about the fob. I'm talking about the frunk button on the front of the vehicle. Can't hurt to try pressing it a few times to make sure its not "stuck."

Mine did this. After about six months, it wouldn't close every time without bouncing it back up. It was maybe 30% close, 70% pop back up. Had to manually close it. Service realigned the front hood which fixed the issue. My guess it just got out of alignment from the the jarring of the pothole roads here in southern california.

2022 R1T here. Had the same thing happen and was deemed a misalignment. Fixed at Dallas SC

Had similar experience, "fixed" with some minor adjustment, came back and ultimately ended up with new hinges for the frunk (took 10 days to do it because they have to paint the hinges to match), now working well for >1,5 years.
