New wheels/tires installed by Discount Tire a few days after getting my '25 R1S. Since the Gear Shop did not have any available at the time I had Discount Tire install what they stock. It has been a month now and 3-400 miles and they are still not sync'ing up. At the 3rd trip back to Discount to verify they are working, and right frequency, they told me I would have to get Rivian branded sensors; there was no more they could do.

Gear Shop still does not have TPMS senders in stock. I thought the whole idea with TMPS is they are not proprietary...as long as you had the right frequency.
I have been through many wheel changes on many vehicles over the years and have never had them not work-generic or otherwise.

Anyone find after-market senders that work, or found a way to 'force' syncing? I have even done the wheel change option in 2025.06.30 but still get the 'service immediately' warning for the TPMS.

I don't have specific knowledge on this issue, but have you tried the full system reboot (what some erroneously call a "hard" reset)?

There's a hidden service menu that you can easily access, there may be a reset or re-read in there. I've seen the instructions, you can google that and find it.

These have been installed on my wheels for about 15,000 miles and have worked flawlessly since day 1.

Edit: I have a Gen1. I don't know if Rivian changed anything for Gen2 vehicles.

And I just noticed these are currently unavailable, and unavailable through a few other vendors I was aware of. Maybe the model number will help you: ‎RDE232V26

Yes, did the hard reset after the tire swap option.

I bought a set of wheels & tires (snows) from tirerack, tpms included. Have mounted on both Rivians for different trips, no resets required and everything reads fine.

you might give them a call and see which tpms they are selling.

Thanks, DT (different store than where I got mine) said they have never got non-OEM sensors to work in Rivians.

@Atomic Wheels What sensors do you all include with your sets, mine sync'd right up and have never been an issue.
Hi! We use universal sensors and program them for Rivian — they auto-sync after driving a few miles, so there shouldn’t be any issue at all.

What do you mean by "program them for Rivian"?

When using universal TPMS sensors, they can be adapted to different vehicles — not all, but many — and they need to be programmed for each specific one.

Rivian uses universal sensors, which also work with other vehicles like the Mach-E, for example

However, they should already come programmed — so if you’ve already purchased them, they should be ready to go and auto-sync after driving a few miles.

Thanks @Atomic Wheels. Although I bought my wheels from you I did not get TPMS. Since I understood that they are universal I just had Discount Tire install theirs; 433Mhz.
These are not working.

And was the installation done a while ago? Have you already driven a few miles since then?
