Ford Ranger EV hit the market in 1998 in "limited" numbers until it was discontinued in 2002. Leased only like t

like the GM EV1. Limited battery technology existed during this time frame.

FYI, I got to ride in an EV 1 in Arizona, a friend of mine got to drive one for 6 months.

Yes, it was not a comfortable feeling riding in an EV 1, knowing that there were lead acid batteries between me and the driver. A T-bone accident could have been a serious issue.
