I live in Central California and have had to take my car to San Jose for service as it is the closest. However their wait times are 2 months out. I asked about Sacramento as its only a bit farther and they had appointment times a week out. Anyways, i thought i'd share with anyone in the same situation as me as while it's still a far drive it is so much more relieving to have earlier appointment times.

I am not sure where you are in Central California. I live in San Luis Obispo. I have had luck getting into the Van Nuys service center pretty quickly. It’s about the same distance from me as San Jose, but it’s the opposite direction.

I am new to the Forum and learning a lot about owning a Tesla. I just put down a deposit on the R2S. Got plenty of time before that arrives, but my wife and I split our time between Taos, NM and Pasadena, CA. I figure service is going to be responsive in so Cal, but what will I do in NM? Maybe Santa Fe?

Can't wait to do the road trip back and forth. Lots of new places to charge up on the way.

Thanks. Yes, Co Springs is not an outrageous distance, I guess (3.5 hours). I suspect for simple jobs I'd rely on mobile service, but WILL THEY GO ANYWHERE? There is less clarity on this aspect of the service.

Don't know I've never had mobile service
there are some issues that HAVE to be done at the centers
The one time they offered mobile service it was a long wait
wait times also depend on issue

Thanks. The R2S is probably a 2027 purchase for us, but service is an important issue. I recently read that Rivian is #1 in customer satisfaction and last in reliability.

There is a mobile tech based in Albuquerque. Not sure if there is a distance limitation in terms of how far out from Albuquerque they can provide service.
