Reboot Frequency

How often do y’all have to reboot just to be able drive? My wife’s Volvo EX40 EV requires an infotainment system reboot once a month at most. My R1S Gen2 requires a full vehicle reboot 2-3 a month, which seems annoyingly excessive to me. Thoughts?

I've rebooted 3 times in just over 2 years of ownership, and none of those in the last year.

Before the 2025.10 update, I had rebooted maybe ten times in 2.5 years.

With 2025.10, every few days, it will reboot itself spontaneously anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour apart while driving. Some days, no reboots, others tons.

I'm hoping 2025.14 will fix this.

My R1S infotainment sys rebooted while driving today for the first time since I purchased it in Dec ‘23. I just applied 2025.14 on Thursday.

Prior to this since owning mine I’ve done a full vehicle reset 3 times and an infotainment reset 4 or 5 times.

My Gen1 R1T rebooted the infotainment 2 or 3 times in the last ~2.5 years- normally following an update. My wife has a 2022 XC40 Recharge. I've been inside when it did a reboot or two, but she hasn't really talked about any issues with it. The software on both cars has gotten massively better since we bought them, but has always been fairly stable.

I have to do an info reboot after every level 2 charge on my gen2.

Whenever any odd behavior occurs.. maybe once every two/three months or so.

I reboot when I need to which is usually 2 time a month. sometimes the camera freaks out, the airbags are slow, or something on the infotainment system is buggy after waking.

I dont mind honestly, as long as my rivian is still drivable I dont mind restarting it like my phone or tablet. Ill take system reboot over the whole truck being a POS like the cybertruck

My 2025 R1S Dual Max battery infotainment system and driver screen rebooted itselft yesterday 5/11/25 around noon CT while I was driving. Freaked me out a bit, kept on driving and after 5 minutes, everything was back to normal. Still not sure why this happens, since I updated to 2025.14.30 last week.

Our R1S gets rebooted after every firmware update. I usually wait a day or a drive, then reboot.

Reboot just to drive? Never. Not once

Reboot because sensor aren't working? Frequently when I first got my gen 2, haven't had to do it in the last 4 months.

Reboot because something minor on the infotainment screen is being annoying? One a month

Thank you all for your responses. I concluded that my vehicle needs reboots more than most. Add that to my list for my next servicing.
