A video overview of my build, talking through some of the choices i made in building the platform, and how much more storage it added. I'm pretty happy with it, and will be testing it out on a camping trip later this week!

A longer asmr-style build video is also coming soon.

I would install some foam on the edge of the top panel to protect the 3rd row upholstery from abrasion. Second I would install a sheet of plywood in the center as a stop for the bins and it would also become a strong back for the platform from moving. Great idea for traveling. I made window shades from 1/2 inch foam insulation to fit in all 5 of the rear windows and installed a sleep curtain behind the front row. Another great item is a folding toilet with seat for those times that nature calls. See Amazon https://a.co/d/iizxsG7

I'm resting on the platform now, just took it out for the first camping trip. It's working great, and I think I will take your suggestion of the foam layer, and perhaps put it around 3 sides. That would both protect the 3rd row upholstery and the doors and make it even more snug.

I like the plywood board suggestion. I have quite a bit of 1/2" mdf leftover from the build and that could be a good use for it!

I am also going to make window covers, from reflectix. Have the roll, just need to cut them out.

I have a trip tips folding toilet and a gigapod popup tent works great for a boondocks bathroom!

Also, here's a video of my cutting and building the board:

That is the foam board that I used in all five windows that just kind of pushes into place. I went ahead and painted it the same color as close as possible to the launch green. I also added an electric mattress. You can see the controller on the left side. That’s for below freezing temps and uses probably a lot less electricity than running the heater.
