How 20% discount is related to Rivian liying about L3 ADAS?
It is not my opinion, I sent you the link to their site as it was shown at the beginning of 2023. It is a fact
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
lol. Lying
Sorry for your sour grapes. Bitching about it isn’t gonna do anything. You either suck it up or get a different vehicle. You won’t be missed I’m sure

Tesla makes good cars, but I would never support them right now.

It differs from SC to SC. I'd contact the local SC manager and have a chat.
I don't believe Rivian provides a way to directly contact an SC, unless something changed recently.

I have had consistent luck contacting the SC manager when I needed. I just message through the app IF I need. I only pulled that card twice in almost 2 years of ownership. Very responsive and very positive experience in both cases.

I agree with the majority of the points the OP makes EXCEPT for everything to do with FSD.

FSD is a lie and its been a lie since 2016.

Basically the OP traded in his little lie for the biggest lie going on in the automotive world by one of the biggest liars of all time.

I get why.

Why the lie is seductive.

I bought the lie back in 2018 knowing it was a lie. I didn't realize at the time how long the lie would persist. I figured at some point they'd have to come clean about the lie or deliver on it to remove the lie.

I traded the major lie in for the little lie back in 2022., and I'm still happy I did. The little lie R1T is the both the best vehicle I've ever owned and indisputably the worst.

Rivian certainly has their challenges of things to solve.

Service
Wind noise
Creaks and rattles in the suspension
Heck even the 12VDC battery issues seem to constantly come up in forums

But, they're solvable problems.

With FSD you have no idea when Tesla will be capable of L3/L4. Of when FSD is not an elaborate trick to kill you.

Elon bet the entire company on FSD.

So which one is best? Y or R1T? :) We need a certified winner!!
Didn't the OP answer this?

If you like driving than the R1T is
If you find driving to miserably boring and you're willing to trade your life away to avoid it then the Model Y is the clear winner. It's a certified killer.

Just skimmed the list, aside from road noise and FSD, it seems like it would be "more points for Rivian". Then you mentioned using FSD 95% of the time. I guess if that's you're primary need, you made the right choice. I could never give up all my "truck functionality" for anything else, and couldn't care less about FSD. And then there's the whole "politics thing". 🤷

But life's too short to not drive what you like. Safe travels!

Was being facetious. I sold my Y for a 22 R1T. They're both great.. at different things

Model Y makes a great Uber in NYC. That’s the only thing I see it being great at where I live. They’re the new Lincoln Town Car, which is not a compliment.

The little lie R1T is the both the best vehicle I've ever owned and indisputably the worst…
👆 This is so true. A buddy was recounting how he has lost faith in his Tundra and Toyota in general from the engine recall to dumb stuff breaking - like the plastic housing surrounding the base of the seats and the headliner drooping after 3 years). The Toyota dealership near him is giving him the runaround about fixing items that should never break.

I have not read anything that Rivian has easily breakable physical components but have taken the truck to the SC or had mobile visits for other stuff. The difference for me, over other vehicles, is the ease of dealing with the service center staff. If the local Rivian SC had the typical difficult service advisors from other dealerships, I would not be as happy with the truck.

No vehicle is mechanically perfect forever. Part of the enjoyment of owning the vehicle is the ease of getting it fixed.

Agree with this - but think these threads are more like: I got rid of my truck for a car.

I get why they are compared, but if someone wants a car, Rivian is not right for them at the present.

We got our R1S(s) because for our use, it’s the best 3 row SUV (and happens to be elec.)

Well, not really. And I mentioned this - I miss Rivian, and I liked the truck very much. I have no hard feelings for Rivian at all. It was not a car vs truck comparison.

I just mentioned the differences between the features of 2 vehicles, for the good and for the bad. To me, FSD was a key element for a move. I use it all the time, and it works very well. YMMV

Anyway, I did not expect this thread to become so vocal. I appreciate everyone's comments.
