First Off Road Test in the Rocky Mountains

Took our 2025 R1S Dual Max on its first off road test today over Breakneck Pass near Fairplay CO. Aired down my off-road tires to 25 psi. Had my new rock sliders installed. It handled the 20% pitch and 15% roll with no problems at 11,000’.

Escaping the heat is the absolute best reason to go 4wheelin’ in Colorado. The wife and I have been in the mountains pretty much every weekend since temp started climbing.

I‘ve got work to do this weekend but I’m heading to Rollins Pass East next weekend. I read there is still some snow blockage up near Yankee Doodle lake but I think it’ll be passible by next weekend.

Another EV benefit, elevation has no affect on vehicle power. Our Lexus LX570 was a wuss at elevation as is every other non turbo.

CO (and most of the West) is gorgeous., looks like a great time.

All true, but to me the best benefit is that you can drive and listen to the nature around you. I find it very relaxing.

Good point, living in GA with 95F++ weather there's nothing to listen to but the AC. Even so I'm a sucker for Merlin when outside, sort of a shazam for birds from the brains at Cornell.

ahhh man I got the 22" range wheels on my R1S. Seeing these trails makes me wonder if that was the wrong choice.
