the number of cell signal bars doesn't reflect the data rate experienced, that's just a reflection of signal strength. you can have a poor data rate even with a very strong signal level.

Personally, I suspect this latest issue is fully on Rivian and likely some sort of QoS traffic management issue within the vehicle network or a process/thread priority issue that they introduced with 2025.10 (allowing something else to hog network or cpu cycles resulting in the skipping/stuttering/garbled playback).

Is anyone having a problem with Amazon Music skipping since the update? I've reset the AV system but I'm still getting constant skips (more like hesitations) playing music. TuneIn is working fine. It's unusable.
Yes same problem here and it was working for years before the last few ota updates. Now it sounds like an LP with some scratches at times.
Not a signal strength issue because signal can be strong and still experience the issue. Also Spotify works just fine.

Things have gotten pretty bad, starting 2 releases ago (for me). The most recent update did make a slight improvement in the transition from wifi to cellular when leaving the house but it's not at all consistent and buffering in general is consistently much worse.
I have a 9 July SC appointment for this issue. I sent them a video of the music skipping/glitching. Will let everyone know if they succeed in resolving this annoying issue.

I've cancelled Connect + till this is fixed. In the meantime, I'm going to see if connecting with hotspot has the same issue.

POST-SC UPDATE: Gaithersburg SC had car for 4 days (including the weekend). Ridealong confirmed issue, troubleshooting of electrical system and wiring narrowed it down to SW (imagine that). Rivian corporate says it's a known issue for Amazon Music and phone-streamed media and that it will be corrected via a future OTA (no forecast given). Some users have it worse than others.

Good idea. I’ll let you know how it goes, but that never worked in my 7+ years with two Teslas. Different company of course…

It has been so bad since the May update, it and several other glitches. Like terrible and getting much worse. Sent mine to Denver SC a few weeks ago. They supposedly couldn't replicate, so didn't do anything. Literally the day I picked it up it started again. So I was finally able to record it.... Just dropped it off again for this and several other issues that were supposedly addressed last time. Probably won't see it for another 2 weeks lol... Is it just me or has the customer service aspect just completely fallen off lately? Love my truck I really do, but its been in service like 8x in a year (for substantial issues) kind of getting over all of it.

They could not fix mine; said it has been reported to HQ and will be addressed in a future (TBD) SW update. Also does the same thing for me in streaming music from phone. Recommend you scroll to the bottom of your Rivian app to "Share Feedback" and report this issue. They need more input to advance it in the hierarchy of need...

Absolutely unuseable. Skips almost every time I am in the car. Only skips on Amazon music. Spotify works fine. Also skips on Amazon music via phone Bluetooth. I have sent it to service center for this and they can’t find the root cause. They say it will be fixed at “some point” with a software release. Who knows someone at Rivian corporate who can prioritize this issue? If Alexa is a key part of the software you think they would prioritize an Amazon music fix. Happened to me this morning!
