I am trying to make sure my r1s gen 2 is not impacted with my firewall. What name does the rivian use on the wifi to connect?

My Firewalla shows that the Manufacturer name is u-blox AG with a MAC of 54:64: DE, a search confirms that. I have a Gen1 R1S built in March 2023. (LOL, if I type it in as a no spaces string, the forum software interprets the : D part as 54:64:DE)
Rivian R1T R1S Wifi Network IP 1751035631924-03

If you look for a MAC address the OUI (start of the address) is 04:c4:61
o4:c4:61 is Murata. It looks like Rivian is sourcing from mulitple suppliers at the chip or board level and does not have their own OUI. Could be a Gen1 / Gen 2 thing?

Yes, mine is a Gen2. Should have noted that.

Thank you! That helped very much.

Different firewall software may try to tag it as a different device (I suspect they crowdsource MAC IDs?). On my Unifi gateway, the Rivian first showed up as an Intel device, then as an Android.

I don't think there's a way to see the MAC address from the car itself, so you may have to do some minor sleuthing (connect it to a novel SSID) to confirm. One thing that is always the case, my Rivian is always the biggest consumer and transferor to AWS.
