Not sure why you question the R2 launch. They are well on track for the R2, and appear well positioned to capture a significant market with it. It sounds like you are not a fan of the company at all. If you don't like their vehicles, their tech, their features, and how the company is being run - why are you here on this forum? Seems odd. Do you regret your R1T?No workarounds I'm aware of..... Bigger question is will they even successfully launch R2.
My guess is rivian will cut their workforce to where it needs to be.
Most of their experience centers or whatever you call them have non essential employees. Between a RIF and lower battery costs they'll probably be fine. Amazed they've made it this far with how many ways they are wasteful.
That being said they will have to stop being just good enough and start taking the hammer to ICE on range IMO to make it without government handouts. My next EV will not be a rivian with current range/lack of tech features offered by others.
Been overall pretty happy with my R1TNot sure why you question the R2 launch. They are well on track for the R2, and appear well positioned to capture a significant market with it. Where do you think their workforce should be? What are you considering 'nonessential' employees?
What do you see as a better alternative EV with better range and tech features? Honestly, with the possible exception of the new Scout, there is nothing else out there I would consider
I don't believe that the death of the incentives will hurt Rivian all that much. I am just personally hoping there is still some way to get that credit. I will still buy an R2. I would buy one today if I could. The price on the R2 is a sweet spot - assuming they can keep it close to that starting point.
No apology needed! Honesty is good. But I am curious - what Chevy are you thinking of? (Long time GM fan - had three Avalanches over the years. Shame they dont' make those anymore, but I don't need that much vehicle these days... )Been overall pretty happy with my R1T
Chevy offerings run circles around Rivian IMO and am disappointed by this
Literally double the freeway range for similar money.
R2 without the 7500 bucks changes the comp list significantly.
IMO the employee count at experience centers is a waste. Tesla was pretty slow to brick and mortar comparatively instead focusing the resources on differentiation.
Not saying Rivian doesn't have its own bells and whistles, but they're not at parity on fundamentals anymore IMO. Market seems to agree with me.
I like to rotate my vehicle when warranty is out and right now don't see myself getting another R1T.
Hoping that changes as I'm about a year out but unlikely...
apologies for voicing my unfiltered opinion!
Agreed. Slate was previously a no brainer for potential buyers.Rivian is not the only one that will be affected. I have to wonder what things are like in the Slate and Telo truck head offices.
My guess is demand is going to surge until the credit goes away. If I were rivian I'd be pulling back on the incentives until Sept 30 or whatever it isDid Rivian already remove the $7500 lease credit? The Dual Standard R1T had a $566 per month lease deal last week and now it is $800. It doesn't seem like they are that interested in moving out the 2025s with the launch of 2026 next week.
Seeing a lot of good things about the Silverado EV, but I have no use for a truck bed any more. Too big fo army needs. The R2 will replace my Toyota 4Runner, and I don't see anything else out there that even comes close. I'll keep an eye on Scout, but the R2 speaks to me as my best option. The new Silverado EV is literally the new avalanche. Exactly why I'm interested.
Recent tests showing 500 miles freeway range!
If you are looking for the same profile of the rivians there's really no other option, but I'm thinking pretty seriously about sizing up. My families grown from 3 to 5 since I got my R1T
I also think the scout looks awesome but will believe it when I see it for the money they're asking!
I do love that they brought back The midgate. That’s an awesome feature. If i still needed a full size truck id be tempted… then again, the starting price is way too high. The new Silverado EV is literally the new avalanche. Exactly why I'm interested.

No no. Demand will not go up to take advantage of the tax break. Those that wanted an R1, pretty much got one.My guess is demand is going to surge until the credit goes away. If I were rivian I'd be pulling back on the incentives until Sept 30 or whatever it is
