A quick solo camping adventure

I've been having a lack of outdoor time this summer with kids, travel, and work commitments. So I decided to go camping mid-week while my wife and kids were traveling.

It was a one-night camping trip from Tuesday into Wednesday, while cutting out of work a little early on Tuesday, and starting a little late on Wednesday.

I saw the new Leaf partially camouflaged while doing a quick top-up charge in Fairplay CO. It looks really good!

I camped at a dispersed site inthe Fourmile Recreation Area for the night, and spent about an hour driving through forest service roads in the morning. Then back to work Wednesday afternoon.

Here's your reminder to go outdoors, even when life seems too busy.

I'm back in that area a fair amount but had never heard of this location. I can't find "Fourmile Recreation Area" on the googles. I do see a Fourmile Campground. Is that the same thing?

I had seen in called four mile in a guidebook, but I don’t know if I that’s an official or unofficial name.

This particular road is called “Trail 311” on Google, but there’s a bigger network of roads and OHV trails through there. It runs roughly from Antero Junction to Buena Vista.

I enjoy doing this too during the week when possible. Less crowds and you can use onx to kind of estimate where you’ll have service if you need to work.

@BigSkies, great post! I miss camping and one of the reasons for getting the R1 was to re-start that. Life has gotten in the way. But, your post is a good reminder of what's important.
