My wife has been driving her RS1 for a few months now. On two occasions recently, the regen braking did not happen as she was coming to a stop. The car continued to drift and then the emergency braking stopped her when it detected a vehicle in front of her. Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks for any thoughts.

Thanks for the quick response. It was not full. She never goes higher than 80%.
Had you been charging just before this? I have found some issues where, even after a level 2 charge, that regen is SEVERLY limited with no indication other than the very light cross-hatching of the regen bar.

Was it configured to charge only to 80%?
If it happens again, hit the horn so it saves logs and ask Rivian to look at it.

Horn doesn't save logs, it saves video clips. The emergency flashers save logs, as does simply long pressing your username in the center screen.

No. She had charged the night before (to 80%), driven to her parents and was on her way back home.

OP try a hard reset and retest?

Long press of driver profile icon is better for this use. And some people fly off the handle when they think they’re being honked at.

I am so confused by this - where were the normal physical brakes in this entire situation?

Is regenerative breaking assist enabled or disabled?

Had your wife been doing an extensive amount of regen braking, such as coming down a steep grade? If brake assist was ON at the time of the incidents (and temps weren't cold, battery wasn't fully charged, hadn't just finished a DC charging session), I'm going to assume that was a no and you need to have Rivian check it out as it's sounding like there may be a problem with the vehicle. The hard reset is also worth a shot but unless you can reproduce the braking problem on demand, it's going to be hard to tell if the problem gets fixed or just hasn't happened yet (unless you get lucky and experience the problem again right away).

To me… Unless softwar-to-hardware glitch or state of battery reducing regen (as designed), the tale tells a story that just can’t happen. Maybe a misinterpretation of what actually happened? Flag/log it if it happens again and engage Support.
