2022 Adventure Max Packs (hopefully).

I don't have an explore package preorder. I was just commenting that it's a cash grab to get desperate people to pay more to get a truck and it wasn't "nice" of them given that no orders are currently locked in. Plus if they were prioritizing the most expensive models, I would have a delivery window for my Max Pack already...I can understand being upset if you have an Explore package, but this is standard practice. Just look at the Hummer, Lightning, and Alleged CT. All will be prioritizing most expensive models first with lower trim models following later. Lucid did it as well.
This indicates that you have the opportunity to do just that:Good email to set expectations properly, I appreciate that (as a Max pack reservation holder).
One thing I think could be made more clear would have been stating whether or not adjusting your configuration from Max/Explore --> Adventure+Lg today or at any point would result in a sooner delivery. I think it's suggested by mentioning 2018/19 holders will have the opportunity to switch, but could be more clear as the website allows you to switch, and I'm guessing a non-zero amount of people are going to do that today.
Adventure with large battery, yes. Any vehicle with max battery, no.No, I'm pretty sure Adventure trims will see 2022 delivery.
Tesla does that not because they are nice but because margins are typically larger on higher trims.I do think it was very nice for them to offer Explorer trim levels the ability to upgrade and get their vehicles earlier. I doubt other auto manufacturers would be so kind enough to do that.
Email was pretty clear. Max packs won’t start production until 2023.2022 Adventure Max Packs (hopefully).
Thanks for pointing that out! It’s a little early here and I was wrong to interpret the statement I quoted about the account page as contradicting and taking precedence over the email statement. It didn’t help that I received two emails from RJ.I believe we have the same email. 2 paragraphs above the one you quoted says this, which is why I mentioend the email today:
"Last month, all Launch Edition preorder holders received their estimated delivery timing window. We will begin sending Adventure and Explore Package preorder holders their estimated delivery window later today."
If it were a cash grab, then Max pack @ $10K would be priority!I don't have an explore package preorder. We are all excited, and it was a long email so it is easy to miss stuff. That is one good thing about this forum in that many other posters find the stuff we miss. I missed the part you pointed out, so I am grateful you posted it.Thanks for pointing that out! If I get an email with a delivery window today then I‘ll be thrilled and if I have to wait until early next year for the information via the account page then I’m fine with that, too.
I saw a RIvian Blue R1T parked in Laguna Beach yesterday and these sightings keep me aware of the fact that it’s a matter of “when“ and not “if” I’ll get an R1S.

Probably not a whole lot of additional margin/profit from max pack over the large. Slowing down production by introducing a new variable is way more costly. If it were a cash grab, then Max pack @ $10K would be priority!
