Just a note - I have SO gotten used to the One Pedal Driving (OPD) in my R1T; LOVE IT! I think, other than to tap the brakes to deactivate the cruise control or driver assist functions on occasion, I've used the actual brake pedal perhaps 5 times this YEAR. OPD Brings my 8,500 pound truck to a resounding stop and holds it there.
My husband just entered into a lease on a Tesla Model Y. The OPD is... weak... at best. The only time the vehicle stops (in what we perceive as a normal stopping distance to whatever is in front) is when FSD is engaged. Otherwise, under manual control, we have to use the brakes for the last 3 yards or so to get to a full stop. The HOLD function also tends to... not. Often the car begins creeping forward. It's... disconcerting. The vehicle is set for maximum OPD response, but... not that great.
Yeah, Rivian!
