Wishlist of small things that Rivian can improve (that bug you)

I'd like a "fob layout" screen in the app that I can set as default. The phone should be at least as capable as the fob. (There are fob functions that are not available in the app, such as "unlock all doors".)

I'd like the "no connect plus" Alexa mode to handle center display selection (e.g. "Alexa display cameras" & "Alexa display map")

I would like an odometer always visible, preferably on the driver display.

Odometers seem to have become confidential information. I recently looked for an odometer reading in my wife’s electric mini cooper and Volvo xc60. I actually had to read the directions (OMG) In both vehicles in order to find where to look.

Working around the vehicle: if I walk up to the tailgate the truck usually realizes I’m there and unlocks. BUT if I open the gate or tonneau and start to work - the truck locks itself after a brief interval. I find that really inconvenient. It obviously knows I’m there… why lock itself while I’m standing there?

Not always. It depends on what service you're using. I find with Spotify and Pandora (through Alexa) it's hit or miss. Streaming radio (iHeart through Alexa) never starts up again, and half the time when you do start it it plays for two seconds and then stops, and you need to plead with Alexa to play it again. Come to think of it, Alexa seems to be the common denominator. Never had these issues with Android Auto...

I would like the clock, currently on the top right corner of the screen be moved to the driver’s display (or least shown in both places) so the driver doesn’t have to look so far away from the road.

Font sizes on displays. Some information are so important that drivers check often when driving. They need to be larger and more eye catching. Design vs Utility issue.

Here are a few that come to mind:

1. Sub level setting separate from the EQ setting.
2. Ability to get a full map (or at least 3/4) on the driver's display, not just a little window.
3. Put an LED in the button that closes the liftgate on the R1S. Very hard to find in the dark.
4. Add a button to lock/unlock the camp speaker on the quick car menu.
5. Clock and odometer/trip odometer on the driver display always.
6. Texting! (probably should have put this as #1)

When using the metric system, convert physical traffic speed limit signs in mph to kph on the center screen speed limit. Show me those 100+ speed limits!

I’ve suggested increasing the font size and location of the time and temp from farthest location from drive to upper center of main screen so driver doesn’t have to look clear over to the farthest corner to read. Increasing the range fonts on driver screens would be helpful too.

They did this in the "Now using Google Maps" update. Linked to the setting for how battery level shows on the driver screen. Can be % only, miles only , or both.

Do you have the "re-lock after 2 minutes" option selected? If you don't actually open a door that option will re-lock the vehicle. Apparently it doesn't consider the tailgate or tonneau a "door."

Scheduled departure like Tesla has. You set the scheduled departure and it has your car charged to the desired level by the time you leave rather than setting a start and end time. The car figures out what time to start charging.

Interesting. The legacy auto Toyota RAV4 Prime does this perfectly too! But Hyundai and Rivian, EV power houses have no clue how to accomplish this. With my Toyota after you plugged in, it started charging very briefly to register charging power and time required, then it stopped charging and got into schedule charging mode. It did it perfectly every time during 2 years of ownership. About half hour to hour before departure time it charged to specified percentage.

This kind of programming is like you get in college computer science 101 homework. I wonder what blocked the mind of engineers at Rivian and Hyundai.
