My R1S Dune version Trimotor gets 350-360miles range repeatedly going to work sites at ~75mph in conserve mode using the cruise control WITH the off-road tires, AC on, roof rack & I've got about 700lbs of work tools and equipment in it at all times. This is verified over and over by the google mileage and charger (not just the car software)

I get a little over 300miles in sport or normal mode regularly driving around and I rarely drive conservatively and on SoCal freeways 85 is the typical speed (when there isn't traffic...) when not going to job sites far away.
What tires are on the Dune?

Jeep is best compared to that hot but crazy chick most of us dated at one point in our twenties.

They can look good if you're willing to ignore the fundamental flaws under the hood. You have a lot of fun driving them for a while. Your friends might be slightly jealous for a hot minute.

Reality sets in when you realize you're stuck with this thing. The extra plastic starts getting annoying. Soon enough something is on fire, emergency services are involved and major life regret set in.

Everyone should do it once in their life for the amazing stories. But keep it short, and never be tempted to go back.
I'm on my third in a row. Zero regrets. Never had a problem with any of them and my current one is a 2019 model, so 7 years old now.

Stock Pirelli off road ones. I do 150 miles out and back to job site and have 50-60miles left (if I got the dog in back and it's hot out there a lose some for pet mode while there)
I think the Dune rims are a little more aerodynamic than the normal rims.

The issue I have is availability of DC (fast) charging on road trips. Without access to Tesla Superchargers road trips are even more inconvenient with an EV. My Jeep with a V-8 has a 400-mile range. And my Tesla came with a J1772 adapter for overnight destination charging, if needed.
Mine is a Pentastar V6 with the 8-speed. Will do more than 500 miles with ease on a road trip. It can actually push 600 miles in good conditions with a light right foot.

And what has that have anything to do with a thread comparing electric SUV ranges?

I have 3x the HP and over 3x the Pentastar torque..... oh wait you have a gas motor. My loaded F150 has more than a 550 mile range (with it's bigger gas tank) and I can put a ton of fuel in the back and tow a trailer with a enough gas to drive across the country without having to fuel up..... then I can use the leftover fuel to fill up all my relatives cars.... and then.... and then.

Do you want a cookie? My post was in response to a V8 Grand Cherokee owner. Try not to be such a hater next time. Oh, and for what it's worth, my Jeep still has a longer range than both your Rivian and your F150. My Jeep can tow more than a ton too (more than 3 tons, actually), since we're now being immature brats. 😂

Yes please! I love cookies. Got any Toll-house chocolate chip?
My loaded F-150 3.5L Ecoboost can supposedly get up to 750 highway miles (don't think I've ever seen more the 600 or so running on fumes) and has a towing capacity of like 11-14K lbs or so, would have to look. Figured I wouldn't need that much to go coast to coast. I loved my old grand cherokee limited 25 years ago or so but test drove a couple of the electric jeep options this summer and didn't like any except.... the one no one is buying with the fake engine noise. A loaded black charger EV, it was actually very comfortable and fun to drive but kind of a pointless vehicle except for someone commuting to office on a big open road. The electric wagoneer S was tiny and cheap crap.:like:

The thread is actually about Jeep's new BEV. So I think posts about other offerings from the Jeep brand are definitely relevant.

It's CCS1 actually. But the socket, whether CCS1 or NACS, doesn't matter. Confining yourself to just one, regardless of which one, means losing out on 50% of the available chargers. That would just be self-inflicted harm.

You are going to want/need an adapter for DCFC regardless of whether you have CCS1 or NACS on your car. And that situation is going to exist for longer than most people keep their cars.

Without access to CCS chargers, it's just as bad. In fact worse, because there are areas of the country where there are NO Tesla chargers open to non-Tesla vehicles, so unless you can do CCS you're out of luck.
I can do

This is a PSA for all of those that made comments about possibly being interested in this Stellantis creation, DO NOT DO IT! take it from a current Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe owner (I have 2) they are the worst mistakes I have ever made in my car buying life time. You'll buy the vehicle and they will tell you that you cannot drive it for most of its life and you wont be able to park it in or near you home. BUT, if you love advertisements in your car or tire pressure lights that comes on every day amongst many other annoyances then this may be for you. I wont even go in on the crappy build material inside, but hey...at least the cars look good from a distance. YOUVE BEEN WARNED!
Couldn’t agree with this more. This past week I rented a Grand Wagoneer for a road trip and the thing was a pile of shit. The driving dynamics were garbage, brakes were extra grabby and throttle was laggy and lurchy.

Not to mention it was a year old with 50k miles on it and half the comfort features were broken. The drivers seat had broken massage and lumbar support, the cameras are worse definition than gen 1 Rivians (beyond potato quality) and the software was laggy to the point of extreme frustration.

The one thing it did do well was drive 500 miles on a tank. Beyond that it was worse in every way to my R1S.

Well sure.... and then? and then?

The post is:
New Rival: 2026 Jeep Recon EV revealed.

I read new rival to Rivian (it is Rivian Forum) comparing Rivian to the Jeep Recon EV (not every Jeep)

Though I love random conversations and babbling about all vehicles (I still will listen to an old "Car Talk" to hear a couple MIT car mechanics babble now and then), all these other posts about Jeep gas vehicles is off topic.

2 Bits: The reason I started checking this forum is the Reddit one is crap because it is flooded with Rivian propagandists flooding out any worthwhile conversations and downvoting to oblivion anything that isn't 100% positive. (I absolutely love my Rivian but it does have a lot of flaws)

I wish for the world of old where topics stayed on topic and didn't get flooded into pages of off topic randomness. Just wanted to see some info on the Jeep Recon EV......

What do you want to compare? Details for both are limited. No one on here has driven either vehicle.

If Jeep is willing to risk their bread and butter for short term profits like this, what else is baked into other products? Do you love Jeep? Does Jeep love you back?

Stellantis built engines with sand debris contamination for nearly two years.

Complete opposite. That sub is full of negativity and emo-fueled overreaction. Every single day it's full of entitled whiners and clowns who accuse Rivian of committing epic atrocities over minor issues. Like the clowns who paint on their back window "Don't Buy Rivian. Always broken." And then take their cars in, like that, to get serviced. The moderators let just about everything stand and are clearly going for quantity over quality—so they can promote their own referral codes and get invited to VIP-only events. That sub is the place to go if you want to be convinced that Rivian is a failing brand with products that can't be trusted, or to have your existing negative bias reinforced. There is hardly any information of value out of that sub. It's nothing but hot takes and zingers.

Re-read buddy. That is name of this threads topic. I just looked at see the info posted about the Recon EV and now I'm replying to random stuff like the Pentastar motors that may be good now but had several years of horrible failures and replacements and the range of gas vehicles which is silly because they are gas.... yes, there are filling stations everywhere that take minutes to get more mileage and even if the model of vehicle doesn't have larger tank options for your SUV or truck..... you can put some "Jerry" cans on it.
