Has anyone else noticed that their Rivian no longer reads speed limit signs? The displayed speed limit seems to often be in error (we are currently travel in South Carolina), particularly on secondary roads.

Have you done an infotainment (soft) reboot? Always a good first troubleshooting step.

Other than a reboot, I notice that it's not always correct, but it's right more than it's wrong. It sometimes screws up parallel highways, like where an HOV section has a higher speed limit than the main lanes.

Yes, both soft and hard reboots have been done. I noticed that my Gen 2 R1T stoped updating after passing speed limit signs a couple of updates ago. Now traveling in an area that is out of our norm, I’m relying on the displayed speed limit more and finding it often in error.

It's not reading the signs, it's just displaying whatever is stored in the maps database.

Correct. But, the database seems worse and originally it seemed to read signs on roads with variable speed limits displayed by digital sign.

Happens on our Rivian and another car we have - both in car nav and Waze. Maybe just driving too fast for sats to keep up 🤷‍♂️

We have electronic, variable speed limit, signs here and I notice it misreading / not acknowledging them occasionally. Usually it figures things out / corrects itself when the 2nd / next one comes along.

Covered many times. Yes, it does use data from the maps provider, but it also can, and does, read the actual sign. This has been verified multiple times.

Good thing you have eyes right? The nav is now based on Google's data, not through visual recognition. Corrections would have to be done on their end.

I've seen some pretty crazy numbers on my speed limit like 55 MPH on a twisty mountain road where it's actually 25 and 95 on one section of freeway. It seems very optimistic!

Data is for the road in general, not for each individual curve and this very instant. The displayed limit is for reference only. Not meant to replace you, the driver's eye and mind.

I get confirmation of this three days a week as I drive to work - there’s a road sign thats damaged and looks more like 85 than 65 (there is no road in Mo that has an 85mph limit, though thats another story) - Muffin sees it EVERY TIME — which makes deciding the point to enable highway assist super easy :D

Not true. There are specific roads I drive down where adjacent road speed limits are visible from other roads. I've checked OSM and Google Maps speed data (which are correct) but my indicated speed limit matches the visible limit from the adjacent road every single time exactly when I pass the sign.
