Key card sensor not working. Is anyone else getting this message? I’m just trying to determine whether it’s a software glitch or a hardware issue specific to my R1T gen 2.

Yes, of course. It’s also possible that after the buggy recent releases the QA cycle has become somewhat elongated.

It seems like it’s been a while since we’ve had a software update for the R1s. Perhaps we’ve been spoiled by the regular releases in the past.

i have also posted about this. I’m on my second R1T (Gen 2) and it seems much worse than my original Gen 1 was. It’s probably a software change not hardware.

Good luck getting the Hankook Ion HTs in 22”. I’ve had them on order for months and Tire Rack keeps moving the delivery date out. What was originally mid-April is now listed as late July. I cannot wait that long, so I cancelled my order.

We have a propane fired combi unit, but I’ve never tried to run it from the Rivian. We also have two refrigerators and two chest freezers, so we are way through the paltry 1500 watts.

So sorry Sam. Glad you are both okay. As awful as it is, if you’re going to get hit by another car a Rivian is a good place to be.

My well pump would be nice, maybe the furnace too.

You will be glad to know that they did not update the design for Gen 2. Mine is frozen and no above freezing temps forecast for at least the next two weeks.

A) I am currently on Folly Island, SC. The speed limit for the entire island is 25 mph and VERY strictly enforced. My faithful Rivian often shows 30 mph. I understand that you feel that speed limits are not sensed “on the fly”, and I agree that that does not seem to be happening currently...

I don’t think anyone is abdicating their responsibility as a driver. If you’re going to supply a reference, it would be nice if it was correct. Where I am currently, speed limit signs seem to be miles apart. Speed limits change often, and are strictly enforced. My GEN 2 used to read signs, but...

Correct. But, the database seems worse and originally it seemed to read signs on roads with variable speed limits displayed by digital sign.

Yes, both soft and hard reboots have been done. I noticed that my Gen 2 R1T stoped updating after passing speed limit signs a couple of updates ago. Now traveling in an area that is out of our norm, I’m relying on the displayed speed limit more and finding it often in error.

Has anyone else noticed that their Rivian no longer reads speed limit signs? The displayed speed limit seems to often be in error (we are currently travel in South Carolina), particularly on secondary roads.
