PSA - Keep in mind that the common 15 to 18 psi recommendation is for tires with a normal pressure of 30 - 35 psi. Follow Rivian's guidelines for air down pressure.

Glad you clarified that. I took the tires down to 30 psi.

By the way, the air pump got really, really hot when airing back up. It made me wonder if it is designed for pumping up four tires at the same time.

Yes is does get hot. In warm weather it may even shutoff to protect itself until it cools down.

When I’m at Glamis, I run about 25 psi on my ATs and it works surprisingly well. Momentum is definitely your friend in the sand.

Not to revive an old thread but what do you use to deflate the tires at a certain PSI? DO you just deflate and look at the gauge?

Honestly, though, we are on the beach a few times every month. The last 20+ times I have never bothered to deflate, even when recovering other vehicles. Sand mode does the trick.

Thank you. Yes I have been once and did not deflate. I used sand mode too and had helped someone out on it.
