Hello!
My name is Dave and I’m located in Sussex, Wisconsin, about 30 minutes west of Milwaukee. I’ve been a RivianForums member (username dlucas589) since November 2023 and owned a 2022 R1T for most of 2024. I’ve always been a BMW guy (and still am), but owning a Rivian completely changed how I think about EVs.
In the fall of 2024, I opened a small dealership called Big Wave Auto (bigwaveauto.com). I’m licensed, bonded, and insured in Wisconsin, and I focus on helping people locate and purchase cars, trucks, and SUVs while keeping a hand‑selected inventory of about 10–20 units on site at any given time.
Over the past 1.5 years I’ve sold 15 Rivians through Big Wave Auto and have met several forum members through my posts under my personal username. Becoming a forum sponsor felt like the natural next step so I can give members direct access to used Rivians beyond Rivian’s own pre‑owned selection and other dealers who may not be as passionate. Most of the Rivians I buy come directly from Rivian as they offload many of their trade‑ins through dealer‑only auctions. Current Rivian inventory
- I’ll keep my current Wisconsin sale-ready inventory in the second post of this thread and update it regularily.
- I will also provide a list of units coming up for sale in the next 2-7 days. These are wholesale units that may need light conditioning, service, etc. These vehicles have all imperfections noted with with pictures and ratings, CARFAX report and any other pertinent info.
- If there is an upcoming sale that you want to pursue, you can put down a $500 deposit and we will discuss our "max bid" that we want to target.
- If the sale is won, the Rivian will be shipped to my dealership for inspection, any reconditioning, and detail. Funds will be received from the buyer. From there it will be shipped to the buyer's location in the US. Title work will be completed typically by the buyer (you go to your DMV and pay the tax/reg) but I can assist as much as possible depending on your state.
- If you’re hunting for something specific (color combos, wheel packages, certain options), DM me what you’re after and your rough budget, and we can set up a search for your ideal spec.
