Gen 1 was always limited on top speed due to tire speed ratings, so I can't see that changing due to liability reasons.
Did they change after I got my 22 R1S? I have the 22s and it came on HL 275/50 R22 116H which has a 130 speed rating.

Gen 1 will get launch control. :)
Hi @Rivian Roamer , any chance you know if there will be a "shortcut" to switch drive modes on Dual Motors?

Really hoping this gets added since the drive modes get changed back to All Purpose automatically after a few hours. Would love a quick way to swap back to my preferred mode and setting!

The only Rivian's with a raised mph limiter is the Gen 2 Quad on Y-rated tires and the Tri with launch control. All others are in that 114mph range +/-.

For sure the standard limiter is around 114 but I thought the Launch Mode on the tri temporally raised it to 130 for quarter mile runs for the launch.

I’m sure once it comes out someone will test it. Not me but someone. 😉

I'll be testing launch control, but not the top speed limiter (no room)... hoping launch control doesn't nerf the high end power like current Gen 1 quad sport mode does

I've got access to two Gen 1 quads, one with 20" AT's and the other with 22" sports, should be an interesting comparison

Some strange HVAC behavior introduced in the last update. Fingers crossed they get it sorted on this one.
If by strange you mean "heat doesn't work at all while moving and below 15degF.......Then yea, I've been told by the SC that this update is supposed to fix that.

Morning commutes in Buffalo suck with no heat, let me tell you.

That sound like no fun. May not be related to your experience but my symptoms include (gen 1):
1) the upper vents defaulting to closed every ride. This can make it feel chilly on a morning commute and I constantly forget about it until I’m sitting at a light wondering why I’m so cold.
2) when phone is in the truck. I park and get out to do something. Come back to the truck in a few minutes to find that it’s blasting the fans at full force for no reason (doors closed). The fans revert back to auto without explanation when I get back in. Whacky.

For #2 is it the setting to auto ventilate the cabin “On”?

Dang! What a shame. If you have rivians ear, this is definitely a feature many of us dual motors will want. I know that Kyle from Out of Spec has mentioned it in his videos and even directly to Rivian Engineers.

I talk to Wassym pretty regularly. Trust me, he gets an ear-full from me about this. One of the things I brought up often was the inability to change drive modes while on autonomous modes. That's now fixed in 2026.03.
