I looked at the Ioniq5 and EV6. And although I did like them, my back did not like getting in and out of them. The Mach-E was the same thing for me, could not get in and out without back issues.
I seriously considered an EV9 and an Ioniq5 but the widespread ICCU failure scared me off. I’d take the Korean out of the equation as well.

You arent wrong. I did also test drive the EV9/Ioniq9... The Ioniq9 is likely the ugliest thing made this year. The EV9 was good, but the dealer told me that they currently do not have a correction for the ICCU other than to replace it with the same faulty part. Getting past that, in top trim models, the stereo in my 2012 Toyota is better. The HUD was nice, the recliner style seats was nice, massaging seats was OK.

That would make it a no for me. One pedal driving is the best thing about an EV.
I thought that at first too but it works well in the etron. Some of my family hated riding with me because I would keep regen on high and they would get nauseous. lol.

I too am in the same boat as I expect to hear this week that my 22 Quad will be totaled. That said I will be getting another one, aiming for Limestone/Ocean Coast but the pickings are pretty slim.

You mentioned Audi a few times, have you considered the Q6/SQ6? It's built on Audi's newest PPE architecture shared with the Macan EV (also worth considering). My wife has an SQ6 and it's plenty quick, great on the highway and sporty enough in dynamic mode, and has the option to one pedal drive (The Macan does not).
Sorry to hear about your loss, hope no one was injured. We don’t need another SUV and none of them are appealing to me. Also not interested in subscriptions for everything. The 23 GT is in a class almost by itself. Kinda a sweet spot if modern but not too tech and very easy on the eyes. Plus my better half is pushing me that way, so you know what they say, happy wife happy life.

One pedal driving is pretty great, I'm a big fan! It's hard for me to pin down "the best" thing about EVs, though - I also really like the instantaneous torque, being able to "gas up" from the sun (and never stopping at a gas station unless I'm on a trip), lack of oil changes and other ICE maintenance.... It seems like some ICE manufacturer could technically emulate one pedal driving by engaging the brakes when you let off the gas, thus removing the EV lock-in, but I'm not sure if anybody has actually done this before and it might be a dumb idea anyway.

For now, I'll join you as it being the best! 😉

Audi now has One pedal driving that you can select by pulling back on the shifter, they call it"B" (brake hold i presume). By default it coasts and has 2 levels of regen you can select using the paddle shifters. When driving the SQ6 I let it coast on the highway and drop it in "B" when I get off. The new A6 etron should have it as well. Even through they are twins Porsche doesn't offer it on the Macan EV.

For me, the one thing would be the other direction of the go pedal. The instant torque and ridiculous silent acceleration. One pedal driving is cool and I thought it was a must have but once I drove the Taycan and Etron GT, I didn’t even notice it was gone. It actually makes sense for a performance vehicle too. You don’t want to “have to” be on the brake or gas. Coasting is a thing and there is a time and place for it in spirited driving. The Audi does have steering wheel paddles to adjust the amount of accelerator pedal regen, it isn’t much but it’s something. Also the brake pedal activates more regen until you request more stopping power than the motors can produce then the friction brakes take over, seamlessly. It’s actually executed very well. Finally l, my passengers complain less about the roller coaster affect they feel when I’m driving with regen on high.
