I use the metric system. For a fraction of a second, I thought that temperature was in Celsius

I've been wondering too what happens if it starts raining. Can it use the rain sensor to close? If it opens on its own, I won't know I need to close the windows.

Auto cabin ventilation doesn't open the windows, just blows in ambient air.

You’re thinking of “Vent Windows”. I don’t believe it will close.

Yah it doesn't vent windows automatically. Where are people getting this idea? It turns on AC instead, to protect the LCD screens.

Being aware that windows are left open and should close automatically if rain is sensed, that would be a smart and feasible software addition. Worth suggesting to Rivian & Wassym.

It does not turn on A/C, it only blows ambient air and it isn't for the screens.

A lot of folks say 125, but I've seen it activate at a few different temps.

128F and nothing happened
Yesterday 108F and it turned on
Multiple times at 110F+ and nothing happened

In the 3 years I've had the Rivian, I think I've seen it turn on 3 times ever, and one of those times was yesterday. Outside temp was 73F and it turned on at 108F inside. Very odd since it was not hot outside at all.

It's only been a thing since 2025.38.

I agree that it does not turn on the A/C but, I believe, the last time I saw the notification on my phone it literally said something like it was activated to protect components such as the screens.

Just going off of the owners manual, it says it does it to 'prevent extremely high temperatures in the cabin'. I suppose this could be intended to provide protection to the screens as well, but it isn't the primary reason.

It's the temp inside that matters, to protect what's subject to temps inside. Enclosed space with no air flow. It can get hot inside even if it's not hot outside.
