Borealis R1S pics and first trip experience

Thanks for the post - I'm hoping you're feeling that it was worth the month (or so) that it spent stuck on a train which delayed your delivery. I hope I see you on one of our many trips to the KOP area - I promise I'll wave or at least flash my lights.

As for Boston...I get it. My two oldest daughters live in Salem so we're up there a couple times a year, but I really prefer it when they come to PA.

Oh nice!! Loved Salem but would be more fun in the fall. Many shops were closed but I imagine they get the most traffic during the months around Halloween.
The wait was excruciating! Would be nice if my PAAK worked like it’s supposed to. It was working fine before I upgraded it, then I wanted it on my watch and had to screw it up by calling support. Other than that, no complaints!!

I’ll flash back if I see ya! I’m mostly west near west Chester, Chadds ford, but would like to get to more Rivian Meet ups if the KOP store holds any.

Yea, in the shade and indoors it does look very blackish. I was on the fence about the color when I was ordering because of that. But now owning one for a bit I will say I see the purple way more often than the black.

Definitely! Would be cool to see another Borealis on the road so I can see what others see I’m like “I wish I could see a purple Rivian on the road!”

Love the color!!
One thing about the digital key, you want to make sure that passive entry is turned on in Apple Wallet. That way you won’t have to do Face ID each time.

Thanks, yeah, It’s on, I turned it off and on a few times, removed the key from the vehicle, added it back, removed it from the phone, added it back. Soft and hard reset the vehicle after I removed the card, and re-added it, hard reset the phone, with and without the card added. Turned off Bluetooth, yada yada….
Still nothing

I have a theory that it has something to do with my internet. I did all this with the car in my garage and the WiFi connection is good but not great. Probably 2.4 ghz range. But I haven’t tried doing the connection with a stronger WiFi connection. Has anyone done it without WiFi at all or does it need WiFi? I thought it needed a WiFi connection.

Another poster had a Borealis R1 and I thought it looked maroon under fluorescent lighting or whatever they had in the showroom. Cameras do weird things to colors as well. You’ll definitely want to see it in person under different lighting conditions. Rivian also has metallic flake in most of their color options.
