Hey, all! Just ordered my R1T and I have some questions about the app on an adroid device.

So, I ordered the truck this morning and the Rivian app can't be installed on my ancient Android 11 phone - version 15 is needed. Ok. So I went to install it on my tablet which runs android 15 and all was well until I tried logging in. It keeps asking for a code that it sent to my email, except that code never comes to my email. I just made the account this morning and it is a Saturday, so maybe my account that I started on my PC isn't ready yet? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

It works, but gives me a error logging in message. I then reentered the same info as my PC account and it said it was sending a confirmation code that never came. Checked my junk, spam, etc. nothing came in. Good thing the truck is still many weeks away. Looks like I'll be replacing my phone, too. Kinda sucks since our Tesla works fine with android 11.

I have an Android phone. No problems. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with latest updates.

FWIW, that's out of security updates... Should be replacing phones when they stop getting security updates.
They used to do it only for 3 years but most are up to 7 now so it's worth an upgrade. And you'll like the battery life of the new ones a lot better

Try pushing the sending code spot I find this works on some apps to get it sent.i use a Samsung fe20 old but works.

Honestly, my best advice is to upgrade your phone. I struggled quite a bit with older Pixel (especially Phone as a Key). Every one of those issues went away once I got a more modern phone with a better BT stack.

Consider spending $80-100k on a new vehicle as permissions to upgrade your mobile phone.

This isnt answering your question... but first step as others mentioned, upgrade your phone, many providers will give you one for free with signup. You really need an updated phone to use this vehicle IMHO, not only for the key, but to manage service, create maintenance tickets, remotely control cabin temp pre-trip and other creature comforts like finding your R1 when you forget where you parked it and building trip planning.

As others have mentioned, even if you do get it to work, it's not going to be convenient for daily use. You need a new phone.

I have a Pixel 6 (yes it is old), but it works fine with my Rivian App. I do every once in a while not get the "security codes", but usually with other apps not Rivian. Try sending an e-mail from your phone. Sometimes my mail app (Yahoo) doesn't show all my messages (no matter where I look).

I believe you can just disable multi-factor identification on your Rivian account so you won't need a code. You can turn it back on later.

Many of us use the app on Android tablets or phones all the time. I don't think Android is the issue here, outside of your outdated and unsupported phone.
