Does anyone else want a center position driver speedo option? Just increase the size of the current speedometer/power distribution gauge and move it to the middle.
That sounds nice, but more than that, I'd like a driver's screen odometer.

I know right. I've been asking for a "Resume" function on the cruise control for 18mo now. Come on Rivian :D
We have a dev that has it working for comma users :p

So, does it still have Amazon Music or no? Can I say "Hey Rivian, play Taylor Swift" and have her play? Or "I like this song" and have it added to my Favorites?

100 articles on this and not one seems to mention it.

Please don't suggest Spotify, LOL. 🤪

“ When you turn on Rivian Assistant, your vehicle automatically turns off Alexa and all Alexa integrations.”
Does this mean that I won’t be able to access and play from my Amazon Music Library?

Is everyone missing that the assistant is going to control receiving/responding to text messages or am I reading too far into that?
The release notes just say that it will control "messaging", which is a bit too ambiguous for my liking. Given how much demand there has been for voice-to-text support, you'd think they'd really highlight that feature in the notes if was fully supported. But I hope I'm wrong for all those that have been waiting for it (but remember it's proven to be just as dangerous as normal texting while driving).

I was going to say "brace for complaints"... I see it has already started.

The update isn't even out yet and some of you are already leaping to conclusions. Why? We don't even know what is actually in the update yet. Jesus...

The release notes just say that it will control "messaging", which is a bit too ambiguous for my liking.
The full description from Jose is:

"The assistant handles the usual stuff you’d expect, controlling vehicle settings, climate, media, navigation, and messages or calls. It can also pull from the Owner’s Guide when you ask about a feature, answer general questions like what the weather looks like at your destination or what song just played, and walk you through alerts or notifications when something pops up on the screen and you’re not sure what it means."

The messaging function has already been demo'ed last year at Autonomy Day. Similar to how you'd ask Siri or Google to deal with incoming and outgoing messages.

This is what AI is states. I guess we’ll see once this is released….

According to official details and RivianTrackr reports, the assistant will handle the following:
  • Vehicle Control: Use natural language to adjust climate (e.g., "warm up all seats except mine"), toggle drive modes, and manage media or navigation.
  • Third-Party App Integration: Launching with Google Calendar support to summarize, reschedule, or navigate to appointments directly by voice.
  • Communication: A significant "quality of life" upgrade allows for hands-free reading and replying to text messages.
  • AI "Memory": An opt-in feature through the Rivian app (v3.12+) that learns driver preferences like favorite music genres and frequent destinations.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Drivers can ask questions directly from the Owner’s Guide or request explanations for on-screen alerts and vehicle notifications.
  • General Intelligence: Powered by large language models (LLMs) to answer general knowledge questions, such as destination weather or identifying the song currently playing.

Nah, people will still come here and post "What does that icon mean"?

Thats an easy one. The answer will be "No, not Taylor Swift again, would you like to hear better music?"
