  1. R1T Solar Tonneau - Custom Build

Very cool idea. How will panels connect to the Eco pro or whatever you are using? Will one need to connect wires Everytime manually or could you create some kind of contacts that will allow you to skip them?
  2. 800v Architecture R3 series

Most CCS chargers are capable of 800v charging. Sustained charge rate at maximum possible amps till 80% helps more. So limit is still thermal. 800v helps, but won't fix it
  3. 800v Architecture R3 series

I am sure it makes a difference for some people. Not me. It might have saved me an hour over the last 4 years.
  4. Switched from R1T (Gen 1 Quad) to a Ford Bronco

While I would love the no nonsense physical controls, I don't think I can live with a vehicle with live rear axle. That should have been relegated to history books and commercial vehicles. Dakar suvs and pickups don't use live axles.
  5. The future of Rivian

If AI does what is promised, the vehicles I own are likely to be the last ones for decade or two.
  6. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

When you treat people like they are dumb, it's a self fulfilling prophecy.
  7. 2027 R2 Performance vs. 2026 Model Y Performance - highway efficiency test (Out of Spec comparison)

Not saying Rivian is special, but Rivian onboard nav absolutely knows hills. Try setting nav to the bottom of a mountain and it will predict that range will be added and it's pretty accurate.
  8. Great Truck - Unrealistic to Maintain

Where did you see that? It's not listed in https://rivian.com/support/article/rivian-care
  9. Great Truck - Unrealistic to Maintain

That's a relief. I was already planning my next vehicle in an year when warranty expires 🤟. Also signed up for Rivian care wait-list on Rivian. Not sure if it matters, but may help push Rivian to make it available in WA.
  10. Great Truck - Unrealistic to Maintain

Per Gemini, None of the third party warranties including XCare will cover the dampers themselves. Relayed suspension components, yes. I might sell this just before warranty, if they don't come up with Rivian Care in WA. I usually keep my vehicles for 10 years, but if I have to sell, I am never...
  11. Rivian R2 Performance - Tire Swap

You will need the wheels with same offset first. The next step is to make sure the wheels don't touch the brakes. Rivian will support 19 inch tires, but we don't know if that version will have smaller brakes.
  12. Munro Video - R2 Structural Battery Pack Explained by Engineering Team

I have an R1 and battery pack is not even one of the top 5 things that worry me. Battery packs are very reliable and have long warranty. More important thing is to bring sanity to Rivian repair costs, which might be the highest of any manufacturer at similar or higher price points, by a...
  13. Front suspension fail

No such law exists, they are within their rights to refuse parts, like they do.
  14. NHTSA: US to Begin Work on New Car Door Safety Rules After Deaths in Teslas

Not speaking for everyone, but my kid is getting old enough to barely reach the handle, while in a convertible car seat. But I have told him never to do that and I believe he understands the implications now. I don't see myself using child locks for him. We will see how the younger one turns...
  15. We crashed our R1S--would Autonomy + have prevented it?

https://kk.org/thetechnium/the-march-of-nines/ Every step to make the autonomy will become harder and harder. There is no system that is perfect today, not even the largest robo taxi operator (Waymo) can(should) claim to work everywhere.
