FSD-lite as in point-to-point but I’m assuming it won’t be as good as Tesla’s V14. Maybe if they keep iterating it will, but you can’t expect that much from a gen 1 product. Even if it’s 80% as good as Tesla’s when they launch it next year I’d consider that a good sign
I guess I didn’t do enough due diligence. I thought Gen2 R1 was getting the FSD-lite that they showed in the videos, but appears that UHF rolling out is not what they showed. For $2500 I suppose it’s still not a terrible deal, but not the bargain FSD I was expecting
Yes that’s a good point. But so far R2 isn’t available nor is its extended feature set. I imagine when they release and start to differentiate the features, the pricing will change/be different.
btw out of curiosity do you feel the same way about paying $2500 for a different paint color?
If you’re buying a $100k Rivian, an extra $2500 to make it mostly self driving isn’t a lot. But anyway, you answered the question, the hands free driving doesn’t add any utility for you so you just think of its investment value. I would never suggest thinking of any tech as an investment. Cars...
resale value isn’t the only consideration is it. What about the tangible value of the feature itself. It reduces some the load and stress of keeping your arms and legs locked in position for hundreds of miles. I personally would pay $2500 even if the resale was 0. It’s not that much money...
I think there are people who would appreciate the posts! Especially those holding out for last minute deals! When im on the hunt, I appreciate any leads I can get
Yup. They do artificially hide features behind the Connect+ paywall. For instance, I’ve noticed with hotspot, I don’t get the google gemini POI summaries even though my car is connected to the internet
Yup fair point.
Also, on a slightly different topic....what are the current incentives available? $3500 loyalty/conquest and $750 referral? So total of $4250? Is that right?
If they had a sales problem, don't you think they would increase incentives to bridge the gap with their sales targets? One could argue maybe they are selling enough Gen 2s to not be worried.
13 service visits and probably 30-40 items that have needed addressing in 2 years leading to a buyback in my case. I’m not surprised at all. I’m going to stay away for a while and revisit when the R2/R3 get released!
My quad-large seems to be ok in the winter tbh. I have a lucid as well which is dog shit in the winter. Goes from like 3.5 miles/kw in summer driving to high 2s in the winter.
But now that gen 2 has heat pump, I figured it would be even better! Haha ?‍♂️
