Billions of years tucked in under ground, finally it's brought out into the sunlight, rock thinks it's got it made, soaking up some UV, minding it's own business...then WHAM, Glacier White R!S takes it out.
I think the R1S had some beef with that particular rock, they even pull along side it...
There was a time where they were finally making progress on supplying some of their tech to other companies which, given the amount of R&D they put into it, would have been a huge boon for them. I believe Hyundai Motor Group was going to use Lucid motors in their Genesis EV line, but that fell...
Everyone has a different Rivian experience, so I'll preface this by saying in spite of component repairs, Rivian service is hands down the most pain free from a customer standpoint vs traditional dealerships
Having an R1T has been a wild ride.
- Best vehicle I've ever owned.
- Most I've seen...
That's literally the reason it's so hard to give up. I love the breadth of capability, but I hate that if 1 of 6 interconnected components goes, the whole thing needs to be redone.
The simplicity of the R2 suspension will be it's greatest strength, and should lend itself well to the aftermarket...
Nice trip. on your range anxiety comment, I've found especially in mountainous BC, that in spite of the huge efficiency hit heading up and into the mountains, the regen recoupling power on the return trip usually means I'm seeing paved highway efficiencies overall by the end of the trip, which...
Sounds like the HV battery is protecting itself from something. I know the Gen 2 packs are more serviceable than a Gen 1. But I would say, worst case HV battery replacent
He's asking if the wall chargers wiring has any loose screws internally which may be causing the fault on the Rivian side.
He's also asking if you've tried charging it using different chargers, not just one AC charger. Such as at home, at work, at a library, or anywhere else that may offer...
Not sure the 12v battery is causing the problem, but if it is you might try going into the RiDE menu, and resetting the battery and see if that resolves it?

They just replaced all 4 dampers, and half-shafts on mine. I'm greatful these things have been warrantable items, but I just had my rear dampers replaced in November. I think I'm on my 3rd set of front dampers, 4th set of rear.
Half shafts, I believe 3rd set on the front, 2nd set on the rear...
To your last comment about reversing, 100% It was like threading the needle anytime I was trying to reverse slowly against a wall trying to predict the initial partial movement, followed by the brakes seemingly lagging their release of the rotors, and then the rear motors overcoming the slop in...
From what I've seen here and elsewhere, most have had it addressed prior to any full failure of the of the half shaft.
There was one owner that had a half shaft come out as he was coming up his driveway. Sounded like the world was coming to an end. I've reached out to the owner to see what the...
This is what bad half shafts sound like within the vehicle.
I've known something was off with the rear half shafts since November, but it wasn't pronounced enough to be easily replicated beyond the occasional knock between regen/accel. Now it's repeatable under normal driving 95% of the time...
